Why are people loving their Lubix-lubed Gu Hong so much? Mine is good when it is JUST lubed then it gets slow after several solves. Why do I need to reloube it so much yet other people including the lubix guy says they only need to lube it once?

Anyone?

Yeah, i was thinking or buying some of the non cube puzzles to start practicing

That's a good idea. I like NxNxN puzzles the most so you'll probably see me with uneven times compared to non NxNxN puzzles. I have a Megaminx that takes me about five minutes to solve cause I can't stand it and a square-1 that I still need to learn to solve.

Now I use beginners method for edge pairing on 4x4x4, which is pairing the edges one by one. I trying to learn two pair method and tried here but everything there is a jumble to me, I don't really understand everything he's doing. Can someone please explain how to do 2 edge pairing in simpler terms or link me to a another tutorial that does?

btw, pb single is around 4:50

at that time as far as im concerned you are still getting familiar to the 4x4 and therefor just need to practice. im sure youd say the same thing if someone averaging 2min on 3x3 asked a question about learning cfop.

That's a good guide if you work well from text based tutorials. You PB is pretty high so lubing you cube if you already haven't will drop your times a lot. Check out these tutorials.

That's part one of three. The other three parts are in the description. That'll help you drop time quickly. Let me see if I can dig up the edge pairing method I use.

I have an x-cube i lubed it while I assembled it.
waiting for it to break in

To the 4x4 question: Try to break it up; Does it take you more than 45 seconds to solve centers? If so, then it definitly needs to be improved. Does the 3x3 part take a while? (For me, its about twice as slow as a reg solve) And last, as you asked in your post, edges. When you begin, looking for edges takes a long time. My first solve was ~6 minutes, and after 4 solves I was in the high 3s. I practiced more and got to low 3s. It was then that I learned double edge pairings (which, I believe was a good time to), and now I am barely sub 2 (Again, after practice). You can definitly try to use the videos that people have suggested, but its probably a good idea to improve your recognition first. Also, double edge pairing requires more recognition, so it may be harder.

And now for my question: Is there a 4x4 solver? Or easier(?), is there an alg to switch a top center and a bottom center on 4x4? I dislike the idea of a commutator to the center and then to the bottom. (This btw is without messing up any other things, its for blind)

Centers can easily be sub-20. Total reduction can be around a minute with a little practice. Then it's all in the 3x3 bit. If you can sub-20 on a 4x4 you're pretty quick. Idk what the splits of a sub-60 solve would be but probably 40 second reduction and then sub-20 3x3

Yea but not much. I mean it can be the difference between a sub and sup-60 solve but I doubt that it will kill your average. Plus if you're that fast at 4x4 you probably know a pure OLL alg and can do PLL opposite and adjacent parity easily, maybe even corner parity too.
