Is this an optimal solve.

Scramble: F' B2 L2 B2 F' U L2 D R2 B2 L U R F' L2 B2 R U' D L D2 R' L2 F U'
White=top red=front
Cross=B’ R’ B’ D’ F’ L2 U L x2 y (I know my cross is horrible.)
1ST=R U R’ U R U R’
2ND=d U2 L U L’ R U R’
3RD=U2 L U L’ U2 L U L’ U’L U’ L’
4TH= F’ L F L’
OLL(44)= U’ F U R U’ R’ F’
PLL(Y)= U (F R U’ R’ U’ R U R’ F’ R U R’ U’ R’ F R F’) U’(auf)
Move count = 65, is that average for a speed solve?
Please let me know if this solve uses zeroing, and add where it occurs and when phasing occurs.
I still don’t quite understand phasing or zeroing so I did this solve based on what I think it is.

This is entirely based on if zeroing is not a joke.

is this a serious post?

Dont own a 7x7 personally, but from other peoples solves, centers 2:20ish, ive seen edges done sub-2, and 3x3 is good.

Those breakdowns will get you sub-5

is this a serious post?

the solve part was. I wanted to know if the approach I took was good or not, and If what I thought was phasing was actually it.

I'm just going to go ahead and write out my solution, and see if it helps.
D R D L F' L2 (6)
U' y' R U' R2 U R (6/12)
U' L' U2 L2 U L' (6/18)
U L' U L (4/22)
U2 y L' U' L U2 L' U L (8/30)
U2 R U R' U R U' R' U' R' F R F' (13/43)
U L' U2 L U L' U2 R U' L U R' U (13/56)
Lower movecount than yours, but you had a longer PLL.
I'll look throught your solve in a minute.
EDIT: Your solution doesn't work.

thank you, I will check my solution real fast. There might be a typo. I had it written on paper and it worked.

Its

Scramble: F' B2 L2 B2 F' U L2 D R2 B2 L U R F' L2 B2 R U' D L D2 R' L2 F U'

OLL(44)= U’ F U R U’ R’ F’
PLL(Y)= U (F R U’ R’ U’ R U R’ F’ R U R’ U’ R’ F R F’) U’(auf)

oops, missed an apostrophe. During the third slot, instead of placing the edge I added a few moves to make the last edge easier.

now to try your solution.

also could you attempt to explain what "Btw, your OLL was pure orientation. Permutation was solved. F U R U' R' F' is a y perm, so your PLL was Y. Zeroing is a joke, if you actually read the thread you should know this." means.

and also, I always do cross on white. I am considering adding yellow, but want to get through full OLL first. and since official scrambles put white on top, I always do when I am following a scramble.

EDIT: worked through yours. That is the same OLL i use for that one. and That is not one of the 2 J's I use for J(b). or is that J(a)
I never learned my PLL inversions that way, I numbered them 1 and 2 since I had to invert them all myself from fridrichs page, back when I first started.

Ok, i'm a noob at speedsolving, BUT I can get a time of 1:15... anyway, I noticed how people just use their fingers to turn the sides of their cube not their whole hand. How do I do that? I mean like how do I turn the right side clockwise, back side counterclockwise, etc? Please answer. I've been looking for it on the web all day.

everything you need to know about this subject and more can be found here especially the How to become a speedcuber one.

Most people do Rs with their wrist and Us with their fingers, for 2gen algs. and People do Fs and Bs differently, since each cuber has his or her own preference. ce

Well, i looked through your solution, and i really only found 2 things worth improving. 1. More efficient cross, this comes with time, and there aren't really any tips to give. 2. It may suit you to try and keep your edges oriented. For example, when you inserted your last pair, if you had made a rotation and inserted without any F moves, then you would have had OLL with all edges oriented.
As for the part in bold, the algorithm F U R U' R' F' does the equivalent of a Y-perm without preserving orientation. So because you got a Y perm for your PLL, everything must have been permuted correctly before you executed OLL.

Probably learn algs for each case. If you're asking for just, say, 2 at a time, then i would suggest setups+2sunes.

@RubiksHuman Using your fingers to "flick" a turn instead of using your whole hand to "wrist" a turn is called fingertricking. Use this term when searching the web. Also, if you don't already have one, you're probably going to want to get a good speedcube and lubricate it. Read up on all this. This will make fingertricks possible and practical.

@Havo Your solution is missing a U2 before the 4th F2L insertion.

@cincy OHHHH, i get it now, :fp, I cant believe I didnt realize that. shame on me. yeah If i knew ZBLL, im sure I would have done a pure OLL. and the reason I did and F insertion, is because I knew what OLL was going to come up, and it is one of my fastest OLLs. and after backtracking the solve to before the fourth pair, I dont see how a cube rotation will orient the edges. At this point in the solve, from the F face, only the UF and UR pieces are misoriented. Assuming you mean a y' rotation followed by U' R U R', those pieces would still be misoriented. Unless im doing it wrong.

If you didn't intentionally auf your dot EO so you would skip CO then yes i would count that as lucky. Also, if you normally use 2-look PLL then U perm or any EPLL is also pretty lucky. Skipping 1 or more steps in LL = lucky. Lucky F2l is more difficult to define. Skipping a single f2l slot by unintentional multislotting or accidental xcross isn't enough to make an f2l lucky in my opinion. To me that's less lucky than getting 2 or move 3 move pairs or getting a rotationless f2l with very easy lookahead, where the next pair is right in front of you every time.

If you knew OLL/PLL then it would definitely be full step. 2-look OLL/PLL is pretty much full step if you knew you would skip CO with 2 F sexy's. 4LLL is certainly not full step.

DIY - Do it yourself. By definition if it comes assembled it's not DIY but in the cubing community it seems that any 3x3x3 with adjustable tensions is classed as a DIY.

EDIT
Wikipedia said:
Do it yourself (or DIY) is a term used to describe building, modifying, or repairing of something without the aid of experts or professionals.

So I suppose adjustable tensions count as DIY.
