Is the lanlan 4x4 any good?

No. It'd be a waste. I have one. It's really smooth and speedy. It's got a crisp feel, but it locks like mad. On an average solve, i guess i have about 15 to 20 seconds worth of lockups and annoyances. But it never pops. I don't like the size and it's too damn heavy.

so i got an infraction for talking about knock offs and got confused,
is it only against the rules to talk about where to buy them, or talk about them in general
like are we allowed to ask questions or discuss the maru 4x4 which is apparently a KO for no reason i can find

According to the site rules, which you can find in the "More" tab at the top:

c. Respect Others' Intellectual Property
Do not promote stolen/copied/knockoff products. Most puzzle makers have patents on their products, and it is against the law to steal or remake their idea as your own. Discussion about where to buy knockoffs is not allowed.

Talking about them in general is fine, but not on where/how to purchase to purchase them. Products like YJ and Maru are KOs because you can clearly see that they copied the v-cube mech. Even, the 4x4s.

well the maru 4x4 may be based off the v-cubes mech but many of its pieces are different from the ones v-cubes has patented. the core is different and both of the hidden pieces are different, as is the corner. maru made a few changes. so tho its based off vcubes i dont understand how its a KO.

using that logic all 3x3s should be KO since they are copying rubiks mechanism

It has to do with patents. Rubik's expired their patent years ago, so technically, the newer cubes are not KO's despite the fact that they use the same or similar mechanisms. But I do agree that this ordeal of KO's can get out of hand.

Regardless of whether anything makes sense or not, rules are rules, and must be followed if somebody wants to be part of a community. I think simply not talking about KO sellers is a small price to pay for order on a forum.

i understand the rules part but the KO thing always confused me, like what is and isnt considered a KO
because no one said the maru was a KO until verdes called it one, i think the maru has its own twist, cuz the two internal pars hook together instead of one laying on top of the other like in the V patent, and they applied MeMyself&Ps V6 mod to it built in and changed the core. but oh well, im pretty sure when the V4 comes out it will either be amazing or completly bomb, and need mods like there other puzzles so far lol cuz from the patent pics it has no way to keep the internal core aligned at all lol

One of the following:
Blue and red
Blue and white
Red and white
White and blue
Because white, red, and blue are the best colors on the cube.

It depends completely on the cuber's fingertricks, for me it's U R U' R'.
R F R F' is popular for some LL edge control though.
