In the WCA rankings, 177 out of 2099 people (8.4%) have sub 1 average for the 4x4, where as 249 of 1130 (22%) have sub 2 average for the 5x5.

Read in to that what you will.

I just got rubik's magic and I have two questions...

this one will sound noobish but what about scrambling? After you're done solving it, do you just turn it back to this position and solve again?

Also, what's the inspection time?

Is the QJ Megaminx as good as the Mf8?

I have a Mefferts, and prefer the Mf8.
From my experience, MF8 is much better than QJ.

They could probably be about the same, but it would take a lot of time and effort to get the QJ to that point.

Cheers guys, I'll stick with the Mf8 then.

Article G: Magic (and similar puzzles) Solving
G1) Standard procedure is followed as described in Article A (Speed Solving).
Additional/special regulations for Magic Solving are described below.

* G1a) The competitor may do practice solves on the competition timer. When the judge and competitor mutually agree, the official solves will begin. At that point, all solves will be treated as official solves.

G2) Scrambling

* G2a) The puzzle is not scrambled.
* G2b) The puzzle is not covered by judge.

G3) Inspection

* G3a) There is no inspection phase.

G4) Starting the solve

* G4a) The puzzles must be completely flat on the surface, with either of the two sides on top.

jamesdeanludlow, thanks! Isn't it a bit boring though, doing the same thing all over again :/

It's fun making shapes though.

Question:

What is the most quiet cube out there? I really need a cube that sounds as little as possible when turning it.
I've been using the QuoJia 52mm cube and its pretty quiet but I want one that is MORE quest if its possible.

One of the holes in my core got stripped down and bigger from too much messing with the tensions =_= anyone have a way on repairing it? (without buying a new core...)

Fill it with glue (or something) and then use a drill to make a new hole. Worked for me.

Oh.....but I dont have a drill tip that size.....=_= bye bye cube....
WOW you actually had a drill tip at that size?
Yeah, I got a bunch of little ones spread out all over the place for drilling pilot holes and whatnot. Maybe you could use a small self-threading screw in place of the drill bit.

Take some Plumbers goop, or other glue that dries slowly, fill the hole with it, then screw the screw in, and unscrew it. Might work. Extra cores are less than a dollar, if you do buy one, buy a couple.
