i have a problem i just bought an alpha 1 core for my f-ii and i try and screw the screws on but they dont go in. It fits but i just keep turning and the screws dont seem to enter and stick plz help

Just look for the next piece you want to solve...

So you're going along, solving your cube. You realize that you're going to this move, this move, and this move next. So instead of just sitting around and watching that move, you ignore it and look at some other piece. You know you'll need this piece and this piece next, so you look around for those and watch where they're going to be after you're done with what you're doing. Now you know where they are, so you don't have to stop before you can solve them.

Repeat.

I would like to know this too. I always used to "optimal" setting for scramble or whatever it is called when I am doing times, but I was never sure if I was doing it right.

I'm pretty sure it's optimal. And when you go to the scramble program the "Minimum scramble length: 0"

Lars Vandenbergh's method is more common, but more algs, and there's this Roux Method approach than is fun and can become quite fast.

I purchased some lubricant from lightake.com (from what a gather it's D39) and i have never lubed a cube before. Do you shake the can before applying or not? Since the writing on the can is Chinese or Japanese i have no clue what to do with it. >_>

I generally do (with Jig-a-Loo), but I'm not completely sure it matters. Look around on YouTube for vids of other people lubing. It should be the same as using any other kind of spray lubricant.

QJ 5x5x5 Clone?

Is there any difference between a QJ 5x5x5 and a QJ 5x5x5 Clone from popbuying? I don't want the tiles, but if the "clone" is worse then well...shoot. I'm getting a big order together, so no I won't save up for a V-Cube 5 sorry. Does anybody know anything about this clone? Are they the same? Should I just buy the tiled one and take them off? Thanks in advance.

What is the easiest way to learn look-ahead for some one using the petrus method?

(Guys, I don't think that by saying "go slow, look ahead, practice" you're being particularly helpful here.)

I believe that with block building methods, the most important thing is to build the blocks in as optimum a way as possible.

This takes time to learn and is possibly the most challenging aspect of these methods. Just go as slow as you like, don't worry about using a metronome or timing yourself. Take as long as you need for each solve and try to find the optimum block. After a while you will become more comfortable with this and you will see the solution in less time. I've never used it myself, but I believe you can use this optimal solver to easily check your solutions.

The main thing is to take as much time as you need, and accept that improvement will likely be slow. Good luck.

I have the same lubricant and I shake it before I use it.

how do you work the Generator Group option in CCT. Basically i want to program a 2-gen scramble option. I can't figure it out, or if what I'm doing is even possible. I've tried stuff along the lines of

(R,U)
(R,R',R2),(U,U',U2)
[R,U]
RU
ru
(R,U) /

etc

no matter what I input it reverts back to blank after I apply/save then close configuration and open it back up.
