In competition, can you specify what colors you on U and F before the judge presents the cube to you?

Also, I have ear muff style hearing protection (I don't know what you call them) to block out sound while I'm doing BLD. There are no electronics in them. Are these legal for competition?

No you can't as far as I know. The cube will be oriented rendomly when it's in the box and being delivered to you. With BLD (Bigcubes) if it's not oriented after scrambling then it would be pretty unfair.

and earplugs are allowed as long as there is no music or additional help in them.

What is your idea about this F2l case?
setup: R2 U R' U R U2 R2 U2
Is the reverse of setup good/fast way to solve it?
reverse of setup: U2 R2 U2 R' U' R U' R2

That's how I do it most of the time.

Another option is:
d' F R U' R' F' L' U' L

Watch how they do different things to the edges...

I think I'm going to switch to this one. thank you for your help.

If you like that alg, stick with it. However, this case can be solved without F turns or cube rotations (double layer turns). I quite like:

(R U R') U2 (R U R' U') (R U R')

It is just slightly longer but very trigger friendly.

WOW! this one is awesome! How come it's not in ANY of advanced f2l videos on youtube?!!
now I also figured out an alg for this similar case: R2 U' R U' R' U2 R2 U2 y
here it is: R U R' U (y) (L' U L) (U' L' U L)

Haha, I can't answer that, it's just a solution I came up with a while ago and have never felt the need to change. I'm glad to see you're playing with your F2L, finding your own tricks is a great way to get a real intuition for this step! =)

Guys..U R U' R' U' R U' R' U R U' R'
More U' than U is better IMO

Is there any good cube out there for underwater cubing? Or atleast a way I could cube underwater and not get the screws all rusty? What size screws and springs would be needed to make a cube waterproof? I could care less about stickers, though.

C4U Gas Assisted Cube.

But really, its not going to rust your cube unless you keep it underwater for hours...

I beg to differ. After just a few dunks underwater, my DaYan, YJ, and CII (The CII is actually paralyzed for what the doctors said could last a lifetime) all have rusted screws. But I may assume that this is just because the water was trapped in the caps, even though I cleaned them off. What do you do usually to dry your cubes off?

Also, I thought the gas assisted cube just floated on water. Is the mechanism sealed to prevent water damage too :D:confused:

If anyone knows the standard letterin system for corners in BLD let me know! Not really a question..but whatever :).

My question is do any of YOU know it ;)

There isn't one.
Next question-why not? Has anyone created a system for it? I'd like to learn one that someone else has created.

if not, then I'll just make up my own of course, not a big deal at all considering its easy
