I know there is no "best" cube, but what is the general consensus on one-handed cubes for small hands? I'm thinking about getting a white mini C (I'm usually a black guy, but I don't have a white cube).

Why not? If it's not in the regulations that you can't use a different sized cube, then go right ahead.
