about how many cases would there be to solve up to 8 edges total, 4 edges in the U layer and 4 edges in the D layer?

Permutation is 8*7*6*5*4*3 = 20,160.
Orientation is 2^7 = 128.
Total is 20,160 * 128 = 2,580,480.

I suggest you look at E35.

I've been trying to switch the center caps of my V-5s. However, two of the caps will not come off. I've used a blade to cut around the cap, but I think the glue is on the inside of the cap. How can I get these caps off?

I think ive heard that silicone disolves glue.
