Is Fridrich pronounced "Fri-drick" or "Fri-drich"?

There was a thread on this quite a while back ago.

Somebody (panyan) decided to message her about the pronunciation and this is what she messaged back:

Well, the correct Czech pronunciation is fridrich with a "ch" sound at the
end (Dutch and Czechs have this sound and it is rather difficult to
reproduce by English-speaking folks). This is why I am OK when people
pronounce it as fridrick. The rest of the name is standard in the sense
that the "i"'s are pronounced as English "e".

Is this sufficient? I guess the only way how to explain fully is over the
phone ...

Jessica

So... the real pronunciation is:

Fred-reccccchhh (make a "coughing up phlegm" sound, to quote brunson)
I believe it's freedreechhh

Is there any way possible to be able to mod a super square 1 so that the middle circle doesn't move at all when you're turning the other layers? Like maybe some sanding and lubing? I'm not asking whether it's been done before, but whether it could be done. I don't want to end up destroying my cube just to find out something already that has been attempted before.

Consider the following. L6E for Roux, orientation does not matter, just permutation. the L&R edges are in DB and DF, in no particular order. Centers can be in any order. How many positions are there?

I tried doing it like this; The L&R edges could be positioned in 1 of 2 ways. Centers are 4. U layer edges have 12 possible positions. So a total of 96. It should be 48, where am I going wrong?

My Question: I can't really find anyone's opinion on this matter:

What are the individual pros/cons of Robert Yau's method over the Asian 3-6-3 method thingy?

Do you mean Yau's full 4x4 method or his edge pairing method?

I'm sorry, only the edge method. I was trying to imply that by the other one being for edges, but I failed.
What the hell... I never posted that.

Quote fail by somebody back there. Let my find out who.

randomtoad's fault. He left an extra half quote in there.

Should read;

can't figure out how to assemble center pieces with screws and core. The screw won't fit in the center piece, am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: btw, this is a haiyan cube.

Put the centre piece on the screw before you screw the screw into the core.

EDIT: You're doing it right. You have one of those new cores that you have to force the screw into. They don't come pre-lined.

no, the screw won't fit in the CENTER PIECE, NOT the core!
the screw only goes as far as the picture shows (bottom pic)

That happened to me once, I just used brute force. I think the mold is sometimes mismade (?), most of them aren't.

no, all the center pieces/screws do it :(

Can we have a pic of the center piece alone?

It can't poke out the other side at all? Did you try pushing it down to put pressure on the spring? If it cannot fit through the hole in the centre piece then it is probably an imperfection. I'd just ram it through.
