Seriously, it's like driving a car without knowing how to use the breaks.
But you can't learn to drive a car without driving one. This is my entire point, and the reason I'm replying back to you (not to mention getting in an argument for the sake of brushing up my debating skills). I learned how to use a forum by using one, and that different forums have different atmospheres that must be adjusted to when you post.
When you learn how to drive, you've already spent years watching other people drive, and you've studied the road rules. Forums should be like this: lurk the forum and learn the written rules and the (unspoken) community rules. Only then should you start posting.

Whether the search function is good or not is irrelevant.
[citation needed]
You forgot to address this.
Ok, I'll explain again how the quality of the forum search function is irrelevant. If the forum search does not provide with results (which it should), you can always search the forum manually or use a Google search. The Search function is not meant to be a replacement for common sense.

An example Google search would be "inurl:speedsolving.com sheng en type f popbuying", the first result being the Popbuying thread.

If you don't know how a forum works, I don't think you shouldn't be posting on a forum.
You have to learn sometime.
Like I said before, you don't learn by posting new useless threads. You learn by lurking, reading, and searching.

I am really not interested in continuing this argument.

Go to a competition & sell there! Word of mouth will do the rest.

Closest i've heard about is bristol and i have no way of getting there and back and nowhere to stay :s but i am trying my best to get to a comp with my stuff.

um how does the organizer of the weekly comp get all the times and puts them in order? I'm organizing one for the chinese cubing forum and it seems like a lot of work

But assuming this is his first forum, then how should he know to lurk, then post? He's new.

Most people (that I know) do not know how to do this. The speedsolving.com's search function, in my opinion, should be powered by Google.

Like I said before, you don't learn by posting new useless threads. You learn by lurking, reading, and searching.
Lots of people learn that way. Of course, lurking would be preferable, but we don't live in a perfect world. As a newbie, you don't know not to post threads, because you're new.

I am really not interested in continuing this argument.
Aren't you? If you weren't interested in continuing this argument, then you wouldn't have continued it.
