Would it be a good idea to start a thread as a single place to post your times, splits, solve vids, etc. to ask for advice on their solves?

Individual people tend to have different things slowing them down. "you need to turn faster," "you need to focus on looking ahead," "you rotate the cube too much during F2L," "you need to work on your accuracy," "use a metronome, your solves are too choppy," "buy a DIY."

It wouldn't be of much use. The people who post those kinds of videos wouldn't even care to see if there is a thread about it.
i think it might be a bit helpful, but only if it was for just helpful criticism on solve videos and such
also, ispinz, if popbuying doesn't have taiyans in stock by the 10th, im ordering from your store..
I'm out of Taiyans currently, but will be getting more plus new stock in ~10 days.

ok, well your shipping is supposedly fast so that will still be in time for indiana winter.

3-5 days shipping.:)

Not exactly the best place for this, but there is no need to create a new thread...

My F F' B and B' Move are absolutely horrendous, I can not perform with out re-gripping the cube, cube rotations, lock ups and inaccuracy. Can someone please post a link or some tips or anything helpful on how to make this not as disastrous.

Thanks.

Well, you shouldn't be doing those moves in your solves to be honest (unless it's an algorithm). If you need to do something like F' U' F during F2L to insert a pair, what you normally do is actually y L' U' L or y' R' U' R.

If you use those moves in an algorithm, find a way to "chain" the algorithm. For example a very common trigger is R' F' R F. You can do that by rotating R' with your hand in such a way that your index finger will be ready to F', and when you rotate R back, you can just do F with your left index finger, or even with your right thumb. It all depends on what you're most comfortable with so you should try it out.

The only B' move I use is in a OLL algorithm, and it has a R' before so what I do in this situation is I rotate R' in a way that my ring finger is ready to do B'.

Ok this is very helpful. I am asking in the context of F2L, as i am trying to learn to solve cases from all four slots. I can see a way to solve most if not all pairs from all empty slots including the back.

Is it more common to pair using the slots in the Front (L & R) even if a cube rotaion is necessary?

It seems as if many people suggest learning intuitive F2L for the reason of NOT just being able to so solve using the front right slot. If F and B moves are discouraged, does that mean that cube rotations to solve pairs that need to go in the back slots are "ok" if i am trying to progress in my F2L abilities?

If you can't solve a pair using R/L moves, you can solve it using R/L moves after you do y or y'. The idea is basically that.

On a solved cube, do B' U' B with red on front and white on bottom. You see a pair (orange/blue). If you used algorithms to solve F2L, what you would probably do would be y2 (to look at orange/blue), identify the case, and perform the algorithm (maybe doing a cube rotation in the algorithm).

However, since you solve F2L intuitively, you can simply do y R' U R or y' L' U L since you already identified the case. You could obviously solve it using B' U B but that's actually slower than doing y or y', and when you do y or y', a "new face" shows up, allowing you to find new corner/edge pieces for your next move (better look-ahead).

Cube rotations aren't necessary bad. There simply will be times when you'll be able to solve all pairs without any rotation at all, and other times you might have to do a couple. The general idea is you should never use F/B moves in your F2L.

i would say doing one cube rotation to do an insertion in F2L is fine, but if you should only do about 4 of them per solve if you are good with minimizing your rotations, so if you have an insertion such as F' U F, then a cube rotation would be worth it

I am a tad confused on the KO rule on these forums. If someone asks, "What 4x4 should I buy?!?!" is it against the rules to inform them of the awareness of the KO cube but not support it? or is it mainly the advertisement of them that is against the rules.

I just don't want to cause any problems xD

How long are the typical "routes" for BLD memo?
I was planning on making some and I have no idea how many points they should have. Can an experienced blindsolver please help me out?

Depends on what you are solving(3x3, 4x4 etc). Also depends on your system (how many pieces per image, images per location).I do one image per piece, and generally dont need more than 8 locations.
