Will cubesmith stickers get in the way of the turning if I were to put it on an F-II? I heard that lots of the newer cubes including the F-II have smaller pieces than what cubesmith stickers are designed for.

Will the stickers just hang over a tiny bit, or will it get in the way of the turning?

Also, is Vinyl the material for the high quality stickers (like cubesmith ones)?

It'll be fine.
So what cubes have this problem?

No normal 3x3's, dianshengs & mini's probably.

Do you even have a Diansheng? Stickers fit fine on diansheng cubes.

4x4 stickers are perfect for minis.
Only a moron would put 3x3 stickers on them.

You have to be careful putting stickers on the F-II, the edges of the stickers chip pretty fast due to the curvature.

Once they chip though, the stickers fit well.

I didn't really want to start a new thread, but is there a way to loosen the springs of a store-bought? I tried sticking rulers in them (where it's connected) but they wouldn't stay.

Basically I have this store-bought and for some reason the core is very tight. The pieces themselves are fine, but there's a little too much resistance when turning.

The reason I know it's the core is because when I take it apart, and put an edge in, the core is so tight that it strains against the piece at a weird angle. Here are some pictures (sorry, cell phone camera quality):

I'm not trying to turn it into a speedcube, but I just want it to be a little more reasonable to use. I maintain it pretty well - clean it, lube it, just put new stickers on it as the old ones were completely destroyed (so it's not a matter of breaking it in more either). I just took it upon myself to try to salvage it and I'm finding it more difficult than I expected (I thought I'd just have to lube it, didn't expect it to be a core problem). I can still do finger tricks on it semi-decently (I do R U R' U' in groups of 6 just for fun) so I feel like it's not hopeless.

Just stick with it. The springs will loosen up with time.

I was thinking mini diansheng. 3x3x3 stickers still work on smaller cubes, they hang over a bit but the cube doesn't slow down.

For a person who averages 17 seconds, is a 10-12 second cross/f2l average, below average better than average?

Maybe, maybe not. It's been under significant use (by myself and several of my co-workers) for ~5 months, that's why I had to replace the stickers. The clear plastic layer had come off and both the blue and yellow sides were almost white. I believe it was under lighter use for several months before that as well...

That's why I said I don't feel like it's a matter of breaking it in more and was looking for a way to force things a little more.
