Oh thanks for the site. I'm gonna learn the edge algs. Mabye Ill never need to learn full OLL :p.

:fp What's so bad about full OLL? 57 algorithms? 57 isn't a large number of algorithms to learn.

Anyway, I have two noob questions about FMC. What is the purpose of insertions (like "insert *algorithm* at .")? And why use pre-moves/inverse scrambles, isn't that cheating a bit? :p

@JTW2007: Looks like Cubes=Life just lost the game.

Ok... So Recently, I've done my first BLD Solve ever. I feel very happy about it and it shows me that I can do anything I set my mind too. But in my case I mean anything. So My problem is, Now that I've accomplished probably my greatest feat yet, I feel .... very unmotivated. I'm not sure why... Example: I have tons of hw for tonight, yet I don't feel like doing it because I feel like I can finish them in one hour if I feel like it.
Another example: I read about the method of loci for memorization and decided to try it on a chemistry assignment. We had to memorize 20 polyatoms, their formulas and their charges. Using the method, I memorized everything in 15 minutes. Then I took a quiz, and I got everything correct. My friend, who spent 2 weeks studying everything, missed 2. This incident showed me, again, that I could do it if I want to.
I don't really feel like doing anything at all because I feel that I could do anything I wanted...even though that's not really the case... yet, that's how I feel. Has anyone ever felt like this?

I remember reading somewhere that many astrounats usually try very dangerous things after they come back home because they feel like, since they survived going to, and coming back from space, that they could do anything they wanted to.... I feel like that too.... Anyone else had similar experiences? If so, what did you do to overcome it?

Can anyone upload side-by-side comparisons of the mini c to a regular 3x3, and/or the qj 3x3?

I'll work on it.

I'm getting back into blindsolving, and trying to find a memory method that I like. I like the idea of Roman Rooms, but I'm not entirely sure that I understand it. There are ten locations in a room, but 20 pieces to memorize. How am I supposed to memorize a complete 3x3 in one room? And once I figure that out, how can I know what piece to associate with what location (i.e. how could I know that the OY edge goes with location 1)?

About insertions: imagine you have a sequence of moves which solves the cube up to, say, a 3-cycle of edges. Of course you can just add your 3-cycle at the end of your solution. But you can also look for a moment during the solve where your edges are more nicely placed and can be solved either with a shorter alg (for example M U2 M' U2 instead of a 10 or 11-move alg) or with an alg which partly cancels with the rest of the solution, and insert your 3-cycle there to obtain a shorter solution.
And premoves and inverse scramble are just tricks to be able to find good solutions that you would never have seen with "normal" solving, as long as your solution is not related to the scramble and you can explain it if requested it is not cheating.

i want to get under 20...
can someone give me an idea of how many seconds each part of my solve should take?
Cross? x seconds
Intuitive F2L? x seconds
2 Look OLL? x seconds
2 Look PLL? x seconds

Do you wait for your cube's stickers to really wear out or do you resticker your cubes as and when you feel like it?

http://cube.garron.us/MGLS/

Around 120+ cases.
69 algs.

And then the PLLs.

Don't just learn ELS, it's useless without CLS.
Learning full MGLS using LH mirrors is pretty easy. ELS is very intuitive, and a majority of MGLS algs are just different ways of putting the pair in that you could do intuitively.

Yes, I know, I made a thread about it :o.

Am I a post whore? It says my average is 4.48 posts per day.

I used to average about 7 posts per day.;)

Where do you find your average of posts?

Haha it's 4.93 now. :D

12.70 for me :(.

solution
Don't post at all. (or post useful stuff not just 4 word posts that don't mean a lot)

or

Don't come to the forum for about 2 weeks and you're post cost will go down.

If I can do it, you can too.
