I don't have a C4U cube but apparently they pop a bit but are fast and cut corners well.

So, I would go for the C4U one if I were you

C4Y also has a pack of 10 Cubes and after Lubrication they do turn pretty well and also cut corners.

But you will end up havig to buy 10 Cubes. So you can buy these in a group

ES 2x2s tend to "loosen" a little bit after repeated use, I just forced it to cut corners over and over until it loosened up.

@Regisiew: I really all comes down to personal preference between stickers or tiles. Some people don't like the feel of tiles, but I prefer them over stickers. Tiles do last longer than stickers though. I love the smooth tiles i got from cubesmith. (im sure if u do a search you will find any more info that you might want. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of threads on this.) As far as buying them: go to cubesmith.com they have the best stickers and the best tiles, so whichever you go with (if not both ) get them from cubesmith. It is the best place to get either, bar none.

Would lubrication help it with the whole locking up thing? Or would it make it worse?

@luke: It's hard to make accurate turns because the cube both slips out of line when I'm holding it normally and each side has a different amount friction. Do you know a way fix either of those things?

my question is, to claim a PB average 3 of 5 does it generally have to be just 5 solves or could you take a best rolling average of 5 from a bunch of solves?

Well both can be counted, but seeing how a 3/5 already is not very significant, many would argue that a rolling 3/5 is just meaningless.

I average 29-30 seconds, My current goal is 20. Can you tell me a breakdown of the solve for a 20 second solve? Cross= __ seconds F2L=__ seconds etc. Thanks.

12 sec, 8 sec. I don't do cross as you know =]. Tell me you're time splits and we can tell you what you need to work on, even though it's surely F2l.
