Does it? I thought that as long as the cap only has one colour then it should be allowed...

If a cap falls off a corner piece, then even though the cap itself only has one sticker, it is a piece with three stickers that is affected, and so I think it should be a DNF. I can't remember though. What is the actual definition of a "part" as used in 5b5?

This is just a general statement though, does the Aosu actually have corner caps that can fall off?

Is there a like an alg for solving the megaminx ll corners alone
like ...uh.... something easy to understand ?????
R' D' R D, like on a 3x3 (idk megaminx notation)

1. do it once
2. AUF so the piece you just took out of LL is below where it should go, repeat alg until it's solved
3. repeat step 2 until all the corners are solved
4. if there isn't a LL corner where there should be (i.e. they are all in U), go back to step one

I've never thought of that... but I thought only ShengShous have corner caps. I could be wrong though; I only have a ShengShou and have only done one solve on a MoYu 4x4.

Is there such a thing as 4 look CFCE? Any links or tutorials to learn that? I can only find links to 2 look CFCE. I want to play around with it but I want to start off slowly so I'm hoping there is such a thing as 4 look cfce.

thanks

It's not that hard.

1. Do the ocll
2. Corner perm (j-perm or y-perm)
3. Edge orientation
4. EPLL

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but I'm trying to get a hold of this. So to clarify:

1. Do the ocll --- This orients the corners(I have use regular OLL for this)
2. Corner perm (j-perm or y-perm) ---- This permutes the corners so they are in their correct position(How does one know which perm to use, j or y?)
3. Edge orientation --- This orients the edges (Question: what algorithms do I use for this?)
4. EPLL ---Apply the correct EPLL (These are subsets of PLL).

Ok so you've got it all but Edge Orientation:

UF UB flipped (opp): R U R' U' M' U R U' r'
UL UB flipped (adj): M' U M U2 M' U M
All flipped: M U R U R' U' M2 U R U' R' U'

Instead of using the standard OCLLs, you could use some more efficient ones that do not preserve edge orientation.

F sexy F' for the headlights case
R U R' U' R' F R F' for the chameleon case.
F double sexy F' for Pi
And F R U' R' U' R U R' F' for the bow tie.

hmm...but after I do the OLL in step one, won't the corners and edges be oriented already? So why would I have to do step 3?

Oh. For step 1 do these algs:
Sune: R U R' U R U2 R'
Antisune: R U2 R' U' R U' R'
U (headlights): F R U R' U' F'
T: R U R' U' R' F R F'
L: F R U' R' U' R U R' F'
Pi: F (R U R' U')2 F'
H: R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R'

Do not do the OLLs, do these algs ignoring EO.

2. Corner perm (j-perm or y-perm) ---- This permutes the corners so they are in their correct position(How does one know which perm to use, j or y?)

J perm swaps adjacent corners and Y perm swaps opposite corners.

Lol more efficient? The the third and fourth and each one move longer than my normal OLL algs for those edges-oriented cases.

There's a certain rule that says that events with a certain number of competitors must have at least 2 rounds or something.

What if everyone in that event got a DNF average? Then what?

Next question: during a competition, I get handed a cube. The cover is lifted and after a few seconds I realise this cube isn't mine. Will I be given a new attempt with the original scramble? Or an alternate one?

What if everyone in that event got a DNF average? Then what? The event would probably just end there, but it's a curious quirk in the regulations.

lol, the first question doesn't make much sense to me

the second, pretty sure extra scramble

I just received my Aolong (from here: http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10006340/1710502-yj-yj8210-moyu-aolong-3x3x3-puzzle-speed-cube). Has anybody had experience with improving the out-of-box AoLong?

That's pretty strange. Most of what I've heard (including my own experience with my Aolong) was that they all were glorious right out of the box. Mine was so good in fact that I didn't lube it for like a month because it was doing fine enough on its own. If production of the v1 was limited like they were saying, maybe they saved shipping the worst out for last :/

iirc, It's pretty bad out of the box. I did about 1k solves before I preferred it to my weilong.

Thanks for these opinions. Do you keep yours on a very loose tension? I've had it very, very loose for a few 100 solves and it felt better, but unusual - maybe just in comparison to my last relatively tight cubes.

One of the middle layers in my AoSu is slightly catchy when turned slowly, and the other two are smooth, what's up with that? Is it supposed to be like that, and do I just break it in?
