Torpedos

Hello

I'm fairly new to cubing and just got my dayan guhong v2 for about a week. I noticed that you can lubricate it but you have to break it apart to do that. So I tried to get it apart which was REALLY hard. After a few tries I finally got it and repeated it to find the best technique to insert your last piece, which was really hard (because of the torpedos).
10 minutes ago I tried to insert the last edgepiece and the torpedo broke off, is it bad? I think it's pretty usefull because the edgepiece can get in and out of the cube way easier.

Thanks

Vortex

hi,
in general: try twisting the last edge in.
one missing torpedo isn't a big deal but i'd leave the other ones in. (i lost one of my guhong v2's torpedos and it has never popped :p)
btw.: the v1s were sold without torpedos ^^

Torpedoes just help reduce pops, one shouldn't make a big difference.

okay now can I expect OLL to mess up my F2L if I do some of those algorithms and PLL to fix that mess up?

How do I properly tension an Moyu AoSu?

I tried searching this forum and YouTube, But didn't get anything.

Its also helpful to loosen the cube before removing pieces if it is difficult to get them out. Remove a couple of center caps and loosen the screw underneath and it will make it much easier to remove/insert pieces. You just have to make sure that you evenly tension the cube back up once you finish lubing. There are many resources here on the forum as well as many youtube videos on how to properly tension your cube. Welcome to the forums and the addiction that cubing will become.

I have noticed when doing CFOP and doing LBL they have basically the same steps in the last layer but in different orders

LBL: first look OLL(that is getting that cross), PLL of edges, PLL of corners, OLL of corners

CFOP: OLL of whole layer, PLL of whole layer

This OLL of corners in LBL temporarily messes up what I have solved but eventually fixes it. This is why I wondered if the OLL would mess up my F2L.

Well there are just 7 simple algorithms for OCLL (corner orientation) but, btw, you can also orient every single corner with the sexymove and it won't mess up anything (it is very unefficient though)

yeah you can solve the whole cube using the sexy move even from the first layer to the middle layer to the last layer.

I now have a case that rubiksplace.com does not have in their PLL cases.

My edges are in a position such that the permutation is in the shape of a 4 no matter what side you look at as your F side and 2 corners need swapped.

How would I solve this 4 perm and corner swap?

My exact case is this:
Blue is F face. Yellow-red edge is on F face and needs to go to the R face. Yellow-Orange edge is on R face and needs to go to L face. Yellow-green edge is on L face and needs to go to B face. Yellow-Blue edge is on B face and needs to go to the F face. Yellow-blue-red corner and Yellow-green-red corner need swapped.

You either have two pieces swapped somewhere else on the cube, or you need to take apart your cube and swap two pieces. That is an impossible case to get.
Or if it's 4x4, r2 U2 r2 Uw2 r2 u2, then U perm.

I did my F2L and OLL correctly. No other pieces are swapped on the cube. It started off in a solved state and then I scrambled it to a checkerboard pattern. When I got to the OLL I had one of those big lightning bolt cases. I did the algorithm for that and a 4 perm + corner swap has resulted.

Then someone has disassembled your cube and swapped two pieces. You'll have to do the same to make your cube solvable.
