No, that's OK but thanks for the offer. For some reason I was under the impression that there were no parity issues with Yau but it seems that I was wrong.

Is there a decent 4x4 method that avoids parity and doesn't have a lot of new algorithms?
Why do you want to avoid paritys so badly? You could learn Yau or Reduction and only need to learn 3 algorithm's including parity, which PLL parity is easy.

There aren't any methods that will ever fully get rid of parity. ^^; It's a shame, but that's the way that the 4x4's are made!

I still would recommend Yau over Reduction, given that it eliminates a lot of searching and cube rotations for me. Since you build the cross, edge pairing is really easy, and has improved my times by a minute or two (They still suck, but you know. I don't train for 4x4).

Yes. Definitely if you are going to do either Yau or Reduction, do Yau. Learn reduction first though, then learn Yau. Your first couple of solves will be horrible, and you will probably mess up your cross during the last 4 centers, you will get better with practice though.

Hey I have a questiom about double finger flicks
I can do U2 with my right hand but not my left
and I can do M2 with my left hand but not my right

How can I learn to do the m2 and u2s with both hands
I ve tried to do it over and over but i just can't get it

also i know full oll and pll what should i learn next on 3x3?

I'm pretty sure you couldn't even do U2 with right hand (and M2 with left hand) when you were a complete beginner. So, how did you learn them? That's right, with practice! And that takes time.

Thanks for all the answers regarding Yau and parity. I was just trying to avoid learning algorithms on the 4x4 until I have full PLL on the 3x3 to avoid confusion. As they can't be avoided I think I'll learn them anyway as I do really like the 4x4.

My LingPo's screws is scratching the pieces inside. I can tell by the white residue on the screw and the sound. Is this a problem or is this normal. If it is a problem, how do i fix it without ruining the tensions?

Probably check to make sure it has washers. If it doesn't, then it probably won't wear away as fast.

The Wikipedia page for WCA says
Additionally, some events have had their official WCA event status removed. They are:
Rubik's Magic
Master Magic
Rubik's Cube: Multiple Blindfolded (old style)
Rainbow Cube
3x3 No inspection
Wikipedia isn't a good source, especially for something like cubing. No inspection and rainbow cube (what even is that?) have never been events. I'm not sure about the first world championships, when there were completely different regulations (and no WCA) and there could have been no inspection, but it has never been in any WCA competitions since then and wasn't an official event.

Tightening it kinda messes with the tensions. Thats the only way?

Is it scratching the cap or the area around it? If your caps are scratches, then definitely tighten it. Otherwise, it's always going to happen underneath. Where the screw is. That's why most cubes these days come with permanent washers on the screws or washers with it. ^^;

You can always try to lube inside the center piece, where the screw rests against the plastic and see if that helps. I dunno if it would to any good though, all my cubes came with washers, so it hasn't been a problem yet.

Would this be competition legal?

I Frankensteined my Guhong v2 with the core and center pieces from a stickerless v1. Beware when cleaning with warm water! It took a layer of the smooth plastic as I was cleaning the centers.

The switch is quite remarkable, I would like to use this as my main for a while. If it's legal of course.

As long as the sides/pieces do not feel different and give you no advantage, I think that would be legal, especially as the cap is black plastic.

Hmm.. the center caps are slightly thinner, making the center pieces lower.. I don't know if that would give an advantage.

Almost certainly wouldn't be allowed for BLD then, but I can't imagine the difference being useful in 3x3, so if you don't do BLD you should be allowed to use it, although you'll probably have to ask someone who knows more about competitions than I do as I've only been to one.

I'm not a BLD solver..yet :) any officials on the forum that I could ask? I could just use it as a practice puzzle

I think rainbow cube was an event for a short time.
