My question: What benefits are there to cross on left solving? Is the Phillip Espinoza the fastest with it?

Faster for some people. Def. faster for OH, and I believe so.

Sergey Ryabko is faster officially with cross on left (https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/results/p.php?i=2009RYAB01)
Most people find it harder to look ahead this way but there are some really nice tricks that can make it super fast. Its really just down to the solver and which feels/works better for them, but most find cross on bottom easier

hmmm, US site has it but unable to find it on canadian site/canadiantire site, however that doesnt mean they dont carry it as both their sites search engines are horrible, ill search chair and a tv will pop up...
Ill call tomorrow, thanks......if I can't find it is there a generic type of lube I can buy that will not harm my cube, cause I've heard certain ingrediants can harm them...couple years back i used jigaloo on my name brand rubiks cube and it melted my cube....

Whichever you prefer/can do faster.

I find the alg with M slices really fast and easy to remember, but i believe that the other one can be faster if well trained.

But I am going to stick with the M' U M U2 M' U M xD

Hi, just joined and getting pretty interested in speedsolving...currently use 2 look oll and pll with a standard official Rubik's cube. I've just ordered a ghosthand off eBay and was wondering how much faster will this make me? Current times are around 35-40 seconds very consistently. If the pieces fall right I can get sub-30.

You made the right choice of getting a Ghosthand to get away from the Rubik's brand. the ghosthand might bring you down to below 35 seconds but if you learn more OLL, PLL and F2l it will bring you down to sub 30. But eventually you would want to get a Dayan cube.
