How to generate algs in cube explorer for permuting the corners while inserting the last slot without considering the orientation of corners and permutation of edges in last layer??

I've noticed something quirky when handscrambling 3x3's while practising; I've had the same OLL case or the same PLL case like 3 to 5 times a row when solving. Does this happen to anyone else? I know I might've been getting used to my handscrambles but it still seems weird seeing as my F2L cant be that consistent + I know nothing about how to prepare for a certain OLL/PLL case.

Good tips for memorizing algorithms?

I know about 11 PLL's, but I seem to have trouble memorizing algorithms. I average around 35 seconds.

I seem to struggle memorizing any algorithm that is not short or similar to other ones.

Any Tips?

Thanks,

Zach

Well my friend does it by turning the algorithm into a story.
My way is keep practising it .Once you do it a lot of times it will be stuck in your head. Also in my way the more you do it it starts feeling like a pattern. If you know what i mean.

Dammit, I added a reply to that thread but it got put into the one answer question thread so my post got deleted…*it was really long too :(

Anyway, here's the rundown:

Everyone has muscle memory, so even if your memory is kind of bad you can just take advantage of muscle memory to learn algorithms quick. While writing this post, I learned another alg for the Runaway/Blank OLL. It took 2 mins. max. Here's how:

First, do the algorithm on the cube while looking at the alg on the screen a bunch of times. Do it like 10 times, let's say. After that, try to do it while just looking at the cube, but while peeking at the screen as much as you need while doing that. Eventually you should be able to just do the alg without really trying that hard.

If your muscle memory isn't that well developed, you might not be able to do it as quick as I do it, or others that have cubed for a while. That's OK. Just try it, and soon you'll be able to learn algs pretty quick.

Nader Cube was trying to say that the alg should kind of have a rhythm. If the alg has a rhythm, you'll be able to do it really naturally. The rhythm of it will come naturally while memorizing it.

If you try it for learning full PLL, you should know what we mean soon enough. It'll come with time.

How would you guys recommend tensioning a SS 5x5? My SS always seems to get a way to either lockup or pop/explode. (Doing a T perm can pop 2 of those centre pieces really easily.)

Edit: I swapped the springs to dayan springs then lubed the core and it fixed most of the problems.

How do non-fitted stickers look on a Moyu Weilong. I have some non-fitted half brights I won at a comp and I want to resticker my cube at some point cause I prefer the Dayan shades to the Moyu ones.

They look fine since the Weilong is 57mm. I tried non-fitted regular with the orange side. It's a bit tight on the corners but it's ok if you're careful. Regular non-fitted stickers are bigger than the stock Weilong stickers though. The stocks are more like the size for 55mm from thecubicle.us. I used fitted 55mm for yellow and it fits better IMO. Maybe fitted 57mm would be ideal.

Can the silver MoYu WeiLong be used in WCA competitions? The plastic is not one solid color. It is sparkly and there are some areas of certain pieces that are darker than the rest of the piece. Is it not allowed because of 3j?
