How many caps would have to come off a square-1 for it to be a DNF? It's possible to tell that it is solved even if all are off.

Edit: Unless both of the caps on the middle layer come off.

I downloaded CCT, but whenever I try to open the file, and error message comes up saying couldn't find file, someone told me to download the newest version of java, but that didn't work either, can someone please help?

If two or more edge caps fall out it would be probably a DNF when stopping the timer, for corner caps I dont see any problem in more than one cap falling.

I have something I really need to clear out, what are the differences between the ghosthand II and the shengshou 4x4s?

Trans-thread bump.

I've tried both, the parts are exactly the same, but out of the box, the ghosthand IIs have a nicer feel and turn better.

i would work on cross/f2l. mostly f2l.

try to drone f2l cases. i.e. find a corner and edge, solve the pair without looking at the pieces or anything. once you are used to seeing cases and doing the insertion as a reaction, then you can easily do lookahead. the lookahead comes from using that time that you arent looking at the current case and try to find things that match up. then towards the end of the insertion, try to figure out how the next case will be solved and where its going to be inserted.

for cross it really does help to try to multitask pieces and use the colorscheme to arrange the cross and then adust the centers afterwords. you cant get fast crosses by doing 1 piece at a time and having no idea what youre going to do after you insert 1 or 2 cross pieces. also, you cant rely on just bringing pieces to the top, aligning them with the center and the R2. most cases you can do with no cube rotations. solutions under 10 moves are VERY easy to accomplish. you probably arent paying attention to efficiency.
