i just got my first ever sq1,its mf8 brand.

The R layer moves well smooth and freely, but the U and D layers are a bit stiff and they dont turn well.
Has this happened with anyone else before? How to make U and D layers turn well? Do i need to lubricate it?if yes, then how to do it?

Sorry if i sound dumb,i'm not familiar with the sq1 notation yet

If it's NOT the ball core one, take one of the corner caps off from the U layer and one cap off the D layer. Put some lube in the little rails because that's where all the friction is.

If that's not fast enough, one of the side caps should have a screw for adjusting.

How to find out if its the ball core one or not?

If you take a cap off and see this, it's a ball core:

Is those little cap holders aren't in there and it looks a little different, it's the old one.
