WHat 4x4 and 5x5 method does Faz use
Reduction.

4x4: 2-2-2-2-2-2
5x5: Free-slice

What is free-slice? Where can I find a tutorial on it
It's also known as Frank Morris edges (I think). Text version here (go to the advanced method) and video version is here at 3:47 (he refers to it as the Storage method):

Thanks, does anyone know if this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xi31Qct3Qk&feature=related is a good method?

So it looks like my first face is sub-1.5. How can I recog PBL fast? I have to look around the entire cube to determine the case.

Well, I use 3-2-2-2-3 for 4x4 now :p

What is 3-2-2-2-3? And on your 5x5 method, what do you do to solve the remaining 4 "tredge" things?

Why does this thread have 99 pages;
I would think there would be more.
But truth to be told, we're one short;
So everyone just has to ignore.

How does trading at competitions work??

is there an area for trading, or do you just find a person and trade

Everybody is sitting at tables or in the "waiting" room practicing and they have their puzzles on their table. Everybody is usually racing or talking with friends. If you see a table with a cube you like, just go up to the person and offer them something. Just say, "Hey, what do you what for blank?" "Do you have a blank?" "No" "Oh" "I'll give you $blank for blank" "Ok" then you just go back and sit down with your new puzzle.

Figure out the case for the first layer during inspection i.e. where the bar will be or whatnot. Other than that, just practice.

Yeah look ahead to the permutation of the first layer during inspection. Also after OLL look for bar on the two faces that you are looking (front and either right or left), if there isn't one, see whether the colours are opp or adj. Then you can just tell.

How can I improve my cross? I do 1 piece at a time. And I can not for my life remember the cross but I can solve BLD.

look through the solution you would take doing one piece at a time, and see if there are any easy to remember shortcuts, start with that and then see where you go from there

But like, I can't... I can't explain why I can't remember.
Um... I can't remember because Pieces move.
IDK how to explain.

What if you just memo 2 peices and practice it? and when that gets comfortable move up to 3 peices memo? This is what I am practicing right now, but I am still working on sub20, so this might not help.

I am working on sub 15 lol.
I just can't remember moving pieces.
