Somebody asked some days ago about 3x3 suggestions for buying and I gave my advice but I cannot find the post now to reply on top of it.

While talking about the YJ ChiLong I said stickers were bad and tend to peel on the corners. I got today a new ChiLong and it came with much nicer rounded stickers (similar to those in the Moyu AoLong) so that the peeling problem seems to be solved now. I will still have to do some solves with it, though.

Anybody else that has recently bought a ChiLong can confirm if theirs came with rounded stickers as well?

you guys may know i do lots of cube rotation in my solves, and im wondering is d moves better to do instead of y rotation ?

It really depends. As long as you're not doing y2 rotations or rotating way too much, a cube rotation is generally better than a regrip+d move.

Mine came with rounded stickers and I have done more than 1500 solves and stickers are holding nicely with just minor chips on the red and yellow side. Other than that, the stickers are really nice :)

Sometimes it is better to use d than cube rotation but mostly people do a cube rotation. I personally prefer cube rotation 90% of the times and d 10% of the times.

oh damn, i do do y2 sometimes ><

yeah id prefer doing cube rotate instead of d moves cause when i try flicking my ring finger and my pinky, it doesnt move at the same time (plus my pinky is pretty weak)

I don't ever do a d or d'

well, i came across some of the video when i was watching some F2L algs that requires d moves to break a pair that was orientated wrongly.

The One Answer Question Thread

How tall is Feliks? He looks really short in Chris's group photo.

I wouldn't say short. Not like I took out my measuring stick when I was talking to him, I'd say he's probably like 5'8, give or take a few inches.

edit: since most of the world isn't American I'll guess around 172cm.

Heh, neither of those mean much to me cos I suck at relative measurement estimates.

I just know 6 foot as being, "quite a tall person", and 2m as being, "quite a very tall person".

How do I calculate the number of combinations of the [M, U] group?
Is this correct?:

6!*2^5*4*4

6! = Number of permutations of the edges
2^5 = Number of orientations of the edges
4 = Number of combinations of the corners [U, U2, U', Unone]
4 = Number of center's combinations

Is there something wrong or something missing?

Any good videos on reducing move count? Was thinking mostly F2L.
In all honesty I don't think there's any videos out there, but a good start is to just slow down, doing untimed solves, and try do do F2L cases as efficiently as possible. It takes lots of practice to do this well during speedsolves, but it will come with time.
