The ball bearings themselves don't really matter. It's the springs.

Can you explain what is bad about the ball bearings? and why ppl say LanLan springs? Does it make finger tricks harder or do you lock up more? Or is it just a general feel that it is nicer without BB

Yeah it's really the springs...all the ball bearings from the 3 brands are identical but the springs vary in strength. SS springs are the toughest and makes the puzzle have a very loud and harsh click with each turn. Moyu springs are a lot softer and the lanlans are slightly softer than moyu. Moyu is best out of the box - I currently use mine with no bearings.

edit: Louis i have a 1.8x with a shengshou on cam but it doesn't preserve the FR f2l slot. So I think i could get a 1.7 with that alg. Id be more interested in lucas parity in particular.

I was really thinking of one that preserved F2L, but I didn't really care about anything else in the LL, just like most OLL parity algs that people use in solves. I use a double parity alg. What's your alg? I've been practising OBLBL a bit recently, and as that finishes with Petrus your alg sounds like it could be useful for that.
I know there are people about twice as fast as me at stuff like 3x3/4x4, so I using that logic I was thinking that if I can get sub-3 quite easily then sub-1.5 at least once wouldn't be hard, especially compared to me using my old, unmodded, untensioned SS (and it was lubed about three days ago with Maru, so it probably isn't really lubed either). But maybe sub-1.5 is a bit too fast for OLL parity...

ocool did I show you that alg? I'm sure i posted it at some point.

and trust me, sub1.5 is ridiculous. I can't even sub1.5 adj PLL parity.

(Rw' U Rw' U' Rw2) (R' U' Rw' U') (R U2 Rw' U') (Rw' U2 Rw' U2 Rw')...flips UF

on second thought i dont think i can execute this faster, in the video it was almost flawless...and shengshous are faster than aosus.

I think someone else may have posted the front/back mirror of it, and you posted the mirror... or something like that. I can remember you being involved somehow when I found it, but not much more than that. I've only just started using it...
And yeah, sub-1.5 is almost impossible. You'd need >10 TPS.
