My idea was that maybe centers are made after edges(i wouldn't think that).
Then it would make sense to only scramble centers so you could practise them. If the edges are messed up after finishing centers, you would know you made a mistake. If the edges were scrambled, you wouldn't be able to tell.

This is why I wanted it - if centres are messed up but edges solved, the mistake was probably in memo or breaking into cycles, if edges are scrambled, the mistake was in execution. If there isn't one I'll probably stick with scrambling normally then solving a cage.

If one got to a cube state where the solve can be finished off with only 2-gen (specifically, two adjacent faces like U and R), how ould one do this without just finishing F2L and performing LL to finish the solve? Petrus gets there and then doesn't finish with 2-gen, and so does ZZ in most cases. It's possible to orient and permut cornesr 2gen, and if you've oriented your edges, you can permute those too. I don't want to have to memorize tons of algs (there are a lot of 2-gen algs for corners of LL and edges too)
Is there an intuitive method for this?

I don't think so.

You can't permute corners 2-gen. Also, by using phasing, you can decrease the number of 2GLLs you need to a third. That isn't tons of algs; it's half the number of OLLs.
And for intuitively solving for the cube from a 2-gen state without completing F2L first... I don't think it can be done.
Although I think corners -> L7E in one 2-gen alg could be an interesting method.

My question: if you were to do a EOCP223>Corners>L7E method, how many cases/algs would there be for the last step?

I want to say 7!/2=2520. Lol.

I think this should be right. Having EO done makes the calculation pretty simple lol

Correction: due to the fact that UL->UR->DR and DR->UL->UR are the same, divide it by 7 so 6!/2. If you don't get it google circular permutations. Same principle.

So L7E is 360 eww. If you solved one edge only (ex. DR) then its only sixty.

So, is there a particular method to solve a 2-gen state...? I mean, I don't care if it involves solving F2L, first, as long as it works well. Because that would be super nice, and if not, i'll have to work on it :)

Temporarily, yes. For a few minutes. I've tried it.
It doesn't last though. I think silicone lube is waterproof or something.

Terrific. I've been trying to figure out how to lube the core on my SS 5x5 without taking it apart. This will hopefully work. Thanks.

EDIT: It worked like a dream!
EDIT2: What 15 puzzle sim does ben use?
