Can someone please explain soft cutoff and hard cutoff? I can't find it on the wiki.

Pretty sure that soft cutoff is the time that you need to beat to finish your average, and hard cutoff is the time that you need to get every solve faster than (eg. hard cutoff for 3x3 = 2 minutes, if on your first solve, you go over 2 minutes, then the judge can stop your solve and give you a DNF).

I thought it was
Soft cutoff: you're so close to the Cutoff time

Hard cutoff: Way slower then the Cutoff time

I'm curious.. does everyone use white as their starting color when solving?

No, but most people. For some reason most tutorials have white crosses and therefore people start using the white side themselves. I use either white or yellow and some people can use any colour.

Just got stackmat timer v1. when I turn it on, the red and green lights light up though i am not touching the pads. I tried pressing the reset but won't stop. What to do it?

Use your brain?
I don't even own a stackmat but it is probably low batteries.

Could someone link me to a good list of printable PLL algorithms? I've been looking for them on Google, but all I've found are non-colored and don't show the other colors. I want ones that look like the ones on the wiki except they aren't print friendly. :p
