i would lube the core, and assemble untill you have one wing edge left, and put a little drop into the edge hole, put the edge, and work it in.

try overlubing the pins. it may feel a little sluggish, but they won't fall.

do the algorithm you want to memorize repeatedly untill it is stuck in your head. then do the algorithim on the cube every one hour so you don't forget it. do it right before bed and in the morning. hopefully you won't forget the algorithm.

Should I attempt to memorize it, or just keep doing it and reading it off a cheat sheet? When I wake up in the morning I don't even remember the first move in some algorithms!O_O

What is the difference between a 4x4 event and a combined 4x4 event?

you mean a combined 4x4 final? That is where there is only one round of 4x4, so it is the first round and the final combined into one. usually there will be a cutoff time for your first 2 solves to be under otherwise you don't get to finish your average

I have a Dayan 4x4 which i bought a few months ago. The problem is that the inner layers are stiff. I have even lubed and loosed the cube but that still doesn't make the cube much better, what can I do to make it easier to turn?

Disassemble the cube completely, and lube & loosen the inner 2x2 core. That's the only thing I had to do, and now my inner layers turn very nicely.

I tried this already, but if I loosen it a piece of the 2x2 core pops.

You barely need to turn it. As in, not even a quarter-turn makes the inner slices turn nicer. That's my experience, and I just did it yesterday with a brand-new cube.

Quick question WHat method does Feliks Zemdegs use on the 4x4 because I used the same method

If you have the F2L complete but don't care about the last layer, is there an algorithm shorter than 7 moves to flip one cross edge and keep the F2L in place?

No.
F2 U M' U' M2 F2 M'
F2 U' M' U M2 F2 M'
M F2 M2 U M U' F2
M F2 M2 U' M U F2
M' U M U' M' U2 M
M' U2 M U M' U' M
M' U2 M U' M' U M
M' U' M U M' U2 M
If you want, you can orientate all the U layer edges relatively easily, with one cross edge flipped.. If there is just one U edge orientated, put it on L and do M' U2 M U' M' U M. If there is just one misorientated, put it on L and do M' U' M U M' U M U2 M' U' M.

Of course not that would mean there is parity on a 3x3 you cna however flip 2.

Can anyone tell me the most important 2 layer EPs that I have to learn for the Square-1? Apart from adj adj and opp opp.
