That's cool. I don't know why people like 2x2. It's so quick there's no challenge to it.
Challenge: Get really fast at it.
Challenge: Get really fast at it officially, get records, ???, PRO-.

Not what I meant. After you learn 3x3 all other nxnxn puzzles take more knowledge while the 2x2 takes less. People have their favorites and mine just isn't 2x2. Maybe I'll look into it more though once I can do all the other events I think are cool.
Not true: EG subsets and/or other methods.

I guess I just don't like that the puzzle is simpler. 4x4, 5x5, ect ect are all more complex and even though 5x5 and 7x7 are similar and 4x4 and 6x6 are similar the big cubes add the challenge of extra orbits and different parities. Learning 72 algs for full Fridrich is one thing because 3x3 is the first one I learned and I can use those algs on every other cube. In 2x2 I'd be learning algs specific to that puzzle. Yes, I can solve a 2x2 using Fridrich but I don't want to bother committing the time to learn the 42 (iirc) algs in CLL
That means you need more knowledge beyond that off a 3x3x3; not to solve it, but to actually get faster at it.

Just so know, most CLL algs are short. Some are easy to learn; just in case you ever do learn it.

CLL is good for the 4x4 if you solve using K4(super fun by the way.)

I have no clue how K4 works other than it's 4x4 LBL instead of reduction. I think it's blockbuilding but I'm not certain. I like to learn methods just for the fun of it, like ZZ which I can sub-30 with but that's not all too impressive. I just looked into Petrus but decided against it while I'm learning OLL. I'd like to learn Roux but I suck at M turns.

Is there a program that outputs scrambles that mess up just the edges on big cubes?

There's really no point in practicing just edges unless your centers are insanely good. If you don't want to do the full solve then just skip the 3x3 phase but practice all of reduction.

I guess yuu people know this pattern on the 3x3:

How do I make some sort of similar looking one on a megaminx?
idk if im doing it wrong but I cant because of some wierd parity.

I don't think there is any algorithms to do it because they would be too long.

The best way to make it is just solve it normally but insert the edge which is on the opposite side of the minx. It takes alot longer then usually but it is fun to do on bigger puzzles such as gigaminx.

There shouldn't be any parity I think. If not then dissasemble the top layer and put it so the pattern is doable then remember to fix it.

I'm going to teach someone how to solve a 2x2 and want a beginner method that will give a good transition to CFOP? I was going to teach him basic beginner 3x3 last layer but the corner permutation confused other people due to parity of Corner Permutation. Ideas anyone

Thanks

preferably one with keyboard controls and mouse controls. one was mention a while back when someone had a 3x4x5 parity, and I downloaded it, but lost it.

Thanks

1. 1x2 block
2. add another corner
3. add final corner creating first layer
4. Sune OLL
5. Corners - U, T, or J PLL alg

LBL(layer by layer is the simplest method on a 2x2 imo)
ummm.... what parity?

@the checker pattern on megaminx.
Ther is no alg, there will be no parity. all edges will be correct, but put in any corner, then make sure the corner next to it match on two colors, then repeat.

And need a standalone program that does not need to be installed that is a fully function cube, for a demonsration in speech class.
