V-Cube Question.

Hi, I have a question about the V-Cubes. I don't know whether to get the black or white set. I really don't care which set I get, but on Youtube I have seen that some people have a white core in their black cube and vice versa.

So which set is better? Or does it just come down to personal preference?

Which cube?

Hi,

I'm a new cuber and im not fast at all, but I enjoy solving the cube and would like to get faster. I know that my current cube (original 3x3 cube) is really holding me back, it's not lubed or anything. The reason for that is because last time I tried to do that, i destroyed my cube (couldnt put it back together). Now i'm looking at other cubes, and I found one.

I found the 'Diansheng 3x3x3 Cube'. This cube doesn't use stickers (really a pro imo) and its easy to change the speed.. and its really really cheap. Would you recommend this cube? Or do you have another cube that would work?

I'd love to hear the opinion of the experts before I buy anything!

NONONONO! Diansheng cubes are quite bad. The most popular are the Guhong, Alpha 5, and the Type F2.

It's also a tad more expensive. DS's are good IMO, especially for beginners. They take some work to get used to but it's well worth the 4 bucks. The paint is pretty bad though, both in quality and color (blue is close to green, orange is similar to red).

I had a DS as my first DIY, and I loved it. Its fine for a beginner, but as you get faster a better cube is a must. Like other people recommend, the F-II and GuHong are all very good cubes too. It all comes down to personal preference though.

The Dayan GuHong Lone Goose looks really sweet, but I dislike that its a DIY (I HATE putting things together). And the Alpha 5 seems okay also.

Anyway, I understand that personal preference is important, but did all of you try out each and every cube? Would get quite expensive I guess..

That's not a good reason at all for not getting a cube. I'm sure there's a website that sells them assembled.

Yeah, the Guhong is very nice! I just bought another one from a website called Witeden.com and they sell the cube assembled. I agree with Cyrus C. It really shouldn't matter if the cube is a DIY or not. Heck, if you drop the cube and everything comes apart, or if you end up getting a really bad pop, you should know how to assemble a DIY.

how are we supposed to tell them apart? if we auf the edges to be all in the correct spot, and the COLL case is the same..how do we tell them apart? I'm a bit confused

i know that in one of those cases, the edges aren't in the correct spot but...in the solve if I auf to have them fixed...then i have 2 cases exactly alike

edit-this is for zbll
