can i do averages with a stackmat??? or do i have to make the average manually with the times i get??

Stackmat itself does not calculate averages. You can either do it manually, enter them into a computer program such as CCT that'll calculate them for you, or you can connect you timer to the computer (which I'm not really familiar with).

do you do it with a calculator?

so if i buy a QJ timer instead of a stackmat (wich i cannot connect to a pc) do i have to make the avg manually?? mmmmm

in competitions, how is the avg calculated? manually??

Thanks in advance

Yes you can do it with a calculator.

afaik the QJ timer does not allow connection with the computer. That doesn't mean you have to do it manually however. Download CCT and just type in the times, it'll calculate averages as well as standard deviations for you.

In competitions, the average is usually calculated by dropping the best and worst solve (DNF if any) and averaging the rest three solves. If there were more than one DNF/DNS, there is no average.

He's asking how that actually is calculated. Yes, by hand, at least at the two competitions I've been to.

It's what almost everyone uses. Just get used to finding pieces and you'll average 2mins in no time.

i am slow at cross what to do :( i solve it in 8-9sec , and my best time i recorded today was 49sec

If you use advanced cross try to get used to the way you solve it for example i solve it in 5 seconds and my best tim si 29.07 seconds and my average is 43 seconds you just have to practice it alot and youle get used to it hopwe this helped:D

If you can, try to look ahead to the whole cross during inspection. When you get used to this, try to look ahead to F2L while making the cross. If you have a really fast F2L, it doesn't matter if your cross isn't as good. :)

I don't know if this is a contentious issue: CRC vs. Jig-A-Loo

Your thoughts...
There's more than one answer to it. Neither are better than the other, but respond differently to different plastics.
ok, im new to square 1. What is the quickest method(s) to solve it?
elimescube and Thrawst have awesome tutorials on youtube.
