Is the A5 a good cube for a beginner speedcuber? If not, what cube would you recommend? Thanks.

People will say ''use a storebought until you're sub 1 minute'' or some variation of that.

Use any cube you want because there is nothing wrong with it. If someone responds to this saying I'm not right.. ignore them.

The A5 is a fine cube, it's not too fast and is easy to handle. It's also slightly smaller than most cubes, some people like that.

Would it be possible to solve a square-1 blindfolded? I could imagine it possibly doable if it were already in a cube form, but otherwise.. I don't know enough about the puzzle to be able to do some accurate theory crafting.

I found a Square-1 BLD video that was posted here in the forums.
Mike Hughey is closer.

Yeah... Mike Hughey talked about the method he is developing for Square-1 BLD that on the last CubeCast podcast episode. Pretty cool.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a massive noob when it comes to speedcubing. With a storebought cube using a really simple solve i saw on the internet i regularly get solves of 55 seconds to minute. I've had some recommendations for speedcubes and I can't decide between the a5 or the type f (II). Any help would be apreciated, also what does OH stand for? Sorry if it's a stupid question :)

OH = One handed

A5 vs F II = something you have to decide, every cuber has a different style. Remember, it's the cuber, not the cube.

No problem. Get either of the 2 cubes, you won't be disappointed. I prefer the a5 because it has good corner cuts, and has a nice clicky sound. Oh stands for 3x3 one handed.

Can you give a few characteristics of each cube please :)

A5 is clicky, fast and (somewhat) flimsy feeling. F2 is smooth, fast and very stable.

Who here received a GuHong that came pre-assembled and lubed? (Without extra payment for the pre-lube?) Sorry if this requires more than one person answering.
