tutorial on how to do cubeshape very quickly on Square-1? I have to do it by bringing all eight edges to one side, then do an alg to return to cubeshape from there..i'm sure there is a better method? I don't care how many algs are required, I am plenty good at learning algs when i am not being lazy ;)

Jaap has a chart of all possible cube shapes.

so im using intuitive F2L, 2 look Oll and PLL and my avg is around 60 sec. Which should i do first:
-learn some non-intuitive cases for F2L
-Learn full PLL
-Lookahead and less cube rotations for F2l

and for the 4x4, im using a beginner redux method with the 2-edge pairing system and one alg each for oll and pll parities, whats the next step for getting faster at the 4x4?
whats

all F2L cases are plenty intuitive if you mess around with them

work on learning PLL and lookahead and less cube rotations all at the same time

for 4x4, the next step is called practice

now, my question, how long has this thing been here???: :tu

Lookahead. Practice.

Do you have a good tutorial on lookahead?

and for the 4x4, should i learn a more advanced method or just stick with the beginner?

you don't need a tutorial for lookahead...just practice looking for the next pieces you'll need while you are solving the current pieces..

for 4x4, you should be fine with what you are doing, just practice, though you might want to try being color neutral in solving the centers so you can take advantage of an easy center that isn't the normal color that you start with.

EDIT: i have a question; what can i do to stop my Square-1 from popping so much...it pops every time I am about to get a new PB...it is a MF8 from cube4you

I average about 2 minutes on 4x4 (and I'm sub 20 on 3x3)-how long do you think it would take me to average 1:20? Is it possible in three months? Also, is it possible to average sub-2:30 in three months on Megaminx from beginner's stage?

i average slightly sub-3:00 on Megaminx after several weeks..so i'd certainly say its possible to get that last 30 seconds with 2 more months...especially if you practice it more than once every few days like i do currently lol

Has anyone got any good X and + 5x5 centers algs that dont rotate the whole center?

eg.

U face

XXXOX

F face

with an order of 2, so if you do the alg twice, nothing happens (no center rotation or anything)

because algs like l' U' r U l U' r' U where L and R moves are inner layers only have an order of 3.

any algs for the edge centers aswell?

EDIT:

sorry, im asking for lots of algs here, but thanks if you give me any.

an alg that swaps these 2 edges

XXXXX
OXXXX
XXXXX
XXXXO
XXXXX

T perm, but only for middle edges (this alg dosent really matter)

It depends on your 3x3 speed- if you're horrible at F2L on 3x3, you'll have more trouble on Megaminx. But like people have said, it is certainly doable. It didn't take me very much time at all to get to sub-3. I never really practiced Megaminx until recently, and I've dropped from 2:30 to sub-2 in roughly 2 weeks.

Those algorithms don't exist. The reason the Niklas commutator is of order 3 is because it does a 3-cycle of centers. That fact becomes more apparent if you perform it on a supercube.
The reason that those algorithms don't exist is because you're asking for an algorithm that does an overall odd number of swaps. On cubes, it's simply impossible for only two pieces to be exchanged.

EDIT, AGAIN:
For some reason, I had it in my head that you were working with a supercube. I suppose there is an algorithm that does a swap of two indistinguishable centers and also swaps the two centers that are not solved. That can exist, it's an even number of swaps. But I'm not sure that's what you're looking for, I don't know what you're using this for.

Looks like he's asking for BLD algs.
Sorry Ben, but the algs you're asking for don't exist because of parity issues. You can't 2-cycle centers, you have to 3-cycle them. If you want to swap 2 wings, you have to swap 2 +-centers as well. And the T-perm ls even worse, you have to swap 2 +-centers and 2 x-centers in addition to the 2 corners and 2 midges.

Search isn't working for me right now...
But I posted in that thread, I'll post back here when I can uncover the thread (tomorrow, hopefully).

y or y' then rU2r'U2r'U2lU2r'U2rU2F2r2F2l', if its big cubes ell go to kirjavas site

and for the t perm if your meaning for last 2 edges http://bigcubes.com/5x5x5/lastedges.html has all cases
