Touché.

When using generated scrambles, officially, how are you supposed to hold the cube? Is it green in front and white/black on top? I always seem to forget.

4d) Cube puzzles must be scrambled with the white (or the lightest colour by default) face on top and green (or the darkest adjacent face by default) on the front.

If I leave my hands on the sensors for very long my stackmat display fills with 8s then shuts off. Is it trying totell me that I need to change the batteries or is it just busted?

This happened to me, but for 1 second. It just needs a new battery.

What if it happens immediately when the light goes green? The timer got banged around ALOT, so that might contribute.

That was also my case, it just needs a new battery. Well for me that was the fix.
