Thanks both of you! :D Both of these are a massive improvement on my previous algs. I like M' U M' U' the best because it's pretty rhythmic and U2 turns are my weakness. Quarter turns are nice :)

I thank both of you for your infinite source of roux halp.

Don't worry about it, if you need anything, just ask.

Well in that case :P

Is there an easy way to glue a screw into the core without in turn cementing the centerpiece down. The springs make this awfully difficult, but I need some way to keep this thing from coming loose until I can scrounge up a replacement :< I know I wont be able to adjust, but it's better than the frightening pops and uneven tension.

Sadface.

The part that doesn't rotate. The core doesn't hold screw, and I want it to stay in. The problem is, gluing only the end of the screw in place without getting any on the part that rotates. I mean, this has to have happened to someone else, I can't be the only guy that's ruined his core before

D:

The threads inside the core are messed up, so it loosens itself. Otherwise, the core is fine.

I was thinking some sort of super glue, but I don't know how I would get it in there with the proper tension, because the springs would be pulling the centerpiece inward.

Ya know, I think I'll just find a core from one of my other cubes and throw that in there. I guess that would be significantly easier

Use thread locker. It keeps the screw in place, but it will still be able to come out(when you need it too.)

Get a C4U spring/screw set.

I had no idea such a marvelous substance existed. As soon as the roads stop being flooded I'm going to try and get my hands on this.

That's the plan now I guess. I ordered a few sets, I'm just waiting for them to come in.

Thx guys.

You can get it at most hardware stores.

Whats a good PLL Time Attack time for some one that averages ~20 Seconds?

PLL time attack is all about turning speed whereas general speedsolving is much more about lookahead.

I average about 18 seconds and average 50 on PLL time attack having not practiced it much.

However Daniel Sheppard averages about 16 yet can't sub60 on PLL time attack. (as far as I know)

It depends on your cubing style really.

For BLD, what is visual memo? Is it just looking at a piece and remembering it's there? I see it referenced a lot.

The way I memo is by tapping the piece and them tapping the next one, and then just trying to repeat it blindfolded (like I'm playing Simon or something). Is there a name for that? Is that just completely stupid? :o

Which alg (and it's inverse) is faster?

R U2 R' U2 R' F R2 U R' U' F' (grip with right thumb on F)
R U2 R' U' R U R' U2 R' F R F' (grip with right thumb on D)

I timed both of them and got .67 seconds faster average.

What's that as a percent? I seem to be stuck at 2.6 for both of them right now.

EDIT: 2.2 average for the second one.
EDIT: And its inverse.
EDIT: 2.1 average for the first one.
