How can I make CubeExplorer find an algorithm to go from one state to another?
For example, I want to go from "Cube in a cube" pattern to "Checkerboard" pattern, using one optimal algorithm.

to find an alg that goes from state A to state B, do this:
1. on your cube, do the REVERSE OF THE ALG that takes you to state B
2. right afterwards, do the alg that takes you to state A
3. put your new (kinda messed up) state into cube explorer

so for this case, do the reverse of the checkerboard pattern alg, then while the cube is in that state, do the cube in a cube algorithm.
put your new (kinda messed up) state into cube explorer.

Thanks! But that is just an ingenious way to do it, I believed that CubeExplorer actually had an option like "Solved state look-alike"... But your option works and that's great :D

oh haha I don't use cube explorer. since you said you couldn't figure out how, I assumed they didn't have that feature :P

I like big cubes (7x7 especially), and I want to get better at them. Would getting a larger cube, like a 9x9, help with that? If playing with bigger cubes does help, should I get a SS 9x9 (or 8x8, 10x10, but I don't like even layered cubes that much) or save my money a bit and get a moyu 13x13? Let's just pretend price isn't a factor here.

What's the best method to clean out lube from the cube? I've tried soaking the pieces in detergent, but they still end up feeling lubey.

Clean each piece by hand using a cleaning agent of your choice. To be extra sure, disassemble the edges and corners. Clean under the torpedoes too
