You can find most cubes on amazon, I am actually quite surprised the weilong isn't on there. You can buy a mini 7x7, a Haunying, a Void cube, an axel cube, and many, many others. I suggest buying from Magic Puzzle Cube. They have some pretty decent service and ship pretty fast.

If you have Amazon Prime, it ships in two business days.

I'd suggest a Fangshi Shuangren

What is the process for getting faster at big cubes?

I just recieved my first good 5x5 for speedsolving and I'm decent, having had a 7x7 for a while but never taken it seriously. I've had a few 3 minute solves. I've had experience training on 3x3 to sub15 so I've been doing a lot of slow solves, trying to reduce move count, looking at fingertricks and practising each segment eyes closed once it's identified, but I was wondering if there are any more ideas out there for how to get fast quick.

Hey so I have 25 dollars on amazon to buy on cubes. What is the best to get there? I noticed that they don't have a lot of good cubes like, like the Weilong. I am thinking of a standard Zanchi and another one. Does anyone know what the best cubes you can get on there are ? Once again I only have money for Amazon. Thank you

The Zhanchi I got from amazon is completely legit and a very good cube. I would be careful with other vendors, I've had a bad experience with somebody selling a "matt" ss 4x4, which first arrived as the wrong brand (a VERY awful LanLan) and the replacement they promised hasn't arrived a week after expected.

This is the 3x3 I got and am using as a main for the moment: http://www.amazon.co.uk/EiioX-Dayan-ZhanChi-3x3x3-Speed/dp/B008BNY71G

Just practice a lot and those things will come. If you do a huge average, depending on your speed, you will drop a ton.

Yea, practise is what I was aiming at. But I think I'll break it up, practising centres first, then edges. The 3x3 segment isn't that relevant!

And later on I can introduce Yau.

Do you think I will drop 10 seconds or something if I do a 5x5 ao50? (I avg 4:30 or so)

You could feasibly get sub-4 with an average of 50(in one session). Its a lot easier to drop time above 3 minutes cause its just recognizing cases which then become natural.
You should be able to get the same result just by doing an Ao12 each day for a few days to a week(kevin hays style, although thats over a lot longer)

It's really easy to get around sub 3 on a 5x5 if you just stick with it. At one point I did nothing but 5x5 and my times dropped down drastically. It's all about getting used to doing centers and edgepairing. I swapped immediately to Yau5 because edgepairing with regular redux was too much of a hassle for me.

Lol. I think you'll drop almost a minute.

I would still practice 3x3 stage. Do like an ao12 on you 5x5 with 3x3 scrambles. Also, that's fine but doing full solves practices each step. What do you avg? And for splits? Also yau is debatable for >5 cubes.

Ignore TheNextFeliks. Don't assume it's v5 unless it says v5. Stocks of v4 might not have sold out yet. I bought one a few weeks ago and it was v4 - the site didn't specify which version.

Ok. Contact the store. They should be able to tell you.

I have decided to be more specific, here are my splits for 3x3 1.Cross 2. F2L 3. OLL 4. PLL. Any suggestions?
best: 0.73 4.24 1.01 1.29 10.65
worst: 3.78 10.94 4.04 4.33 16.39
avg: 2.01 6.65 2.34 2.35 13.35
std: 33.7% 19.4% 35.7% 30.6% 11.4%
step 1 step 2 step 3 step 4 total

Is there a source I can see the pros and cons of yau for 5x5? I've been using yau5 since it makes the edge pairing easier, and since I'm slow already it's about the same as redux. If I do choose redux the yau might be a good stepping stone to learn some edge pairing patterns.

I'm getting consistently below 3:30 with either method with a few below 3:00. I haven't timed splits yet, I don't see it as worth it at this stage.

IN MY OPINION:
Yau5 pros
Pretty much same stuff as with Yau on a 4x4; makes edgepairing a lot easier which is more and more important when the cube gets bigger.

cons
The advantage of the ready cross after edgepairing is not as important because the 3x3 phase is a smaller fraction of the total time of the solve.
Everything is bigger than with a 4x4. You have to be pretty familiar with different ways to make the last 4 centers so that you can easily do it with the lock yau makes (because of the 3 completed cross edges). Also finding the 3 cross edges can be hard at first; Completing the last cross edge can be awkward too. I think avoiding parity is easier with Yau, because the whole edgepairing process is more streamlined in my opinion.

Overall I think that the easier edgepairing makes up for all of this, which is why I use Yau5.

CX3 is available in all these cool colours. Just want to check on what's competition-legal.
Legal: Black, white, red, yellow, orange, blue, green, purple
Illegal: Stickerless, transparent, transparent blue (this sounds cool... I want to know what it looks like)

Is glow-in-the-dark legal or illegal? And is the above list correct?

My older Maru 3x3 is a Glow-in-the-dark one and it's semi-transparent. It came with Transparent stickers that screwed up my recognition so I had to replace them. I think the transparent and the Glow cubes are legal as long as it has non-transparent stickers.
