Would it be possible to solve a square-1 blindfolded? I could imagine it possibly doable if it were already in a cube form, but otherwise.. I don't know enough about the puzzle to be able to do some accurate theory crafting.

Mike Hughey has already done successful solves:

The letters in the comments are my way of keeping track of the shapes. I'm using CCT, so when it displays, it shows a / at the end every time, so you have to add a slash at the end of the scrambles that don't have one to see the solve I actually did. I'm probably using CCT wrong, but I never bothered to figure it out since I figured it was a good enough scramble anyway.

The second solve was 18 minutes because I spent 10 minutes recalling the memorization for the translation matrix. The fun thing is that if you remember part of the memorization, you can usually dredge up the rest by process of elimination due to the way my scheme works. My DNF was a case I haven't memorized well enough yet.

I still don't have all cases memorized - I'm probably about 2/3 done (maybe a little more). But I do have all 90 cases worked out, and have at least started working on memorizing them all. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll really have them all.

I wanted to wait to post an average until I had them all learned, but once I actually got a successful average, I couldn't resist posting it. :)

What is the best, easiest to understand BLD tutorial? Other than Badmephisto's or EricLimeback's.

If I don't get any replies, then I'll take it that those are the best tutorials to learn from.

Anyone know a fast F - perm I use (R' U R U' R2 F' U' F U R F R' F' R2 U') and this takes me 4-5 sec:eek: What is a fast F- perm?

R' U' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' U R is another good one. The only awkward part is the R' U' F'
Then the rest is a T-perm, pretty much.
EDIT: never mind, you already got one.

Wow, so many that are so much better than my crappy algorithm!

This is what I use too. It's okay.

Right now I solve the LL in 7-10 sec. , yet I average 25 sec. I figure if I knock my LL down to 5 sec. I could be sub. 20 in a week. With that being said does anyone know of good N-Perms or a V-perm? For the N-perms I use
(L U' R U2 L' U R' L U' R U2 L' U R' U) and (L' U R' U2 L U' R L' U R' U2 L U' R). For V -perm I use (L' U R U' L U L' U R' U' L U2 R U2 R') Please help:(

Na (or B, it's the bad one idk)

R U R' U (jb perm) U' R U' R'

Heh. My LL is 6-7 seconds and I'm sub 15. Anyway, I use the first N perm you typed and it's mirror. Not fast but it doesn't come up often. V perm I use R' U R' U' y x R' U' R2 B' R' B R' U R U

depends on what method you are wanting to use, old pochmann, 3op, m2...

Sorry, I meant to add in Beginner blindfold tutorial. Just whatever method is easiest.

I learned from this a long time ago. But I used Eric Limeback's tutorial as well.

Which alg do you use for that case? any on that list?
i dont really find any on there pleasing
id prefer no B moves in the algorithm as well (unless a rotation would make it sexy)

thank ya. also post how fast you can perform it, just as a rough estimate

I use the 2nd and the 3rd. I get like 1.2s and 1.4s

dont know but i cant perform it smoothely, if you arent doing anything id love a video showing it done slowly and then a fast solve of it
im missing something :o

R' U2 x R U' R' U x' U2 F' R F

^ that's ok.

(R'U2RU2)(LU2)(R'U2RU2)L'

^ I use this one for OH so I just transferred that alg to 2H. I think the first one is better for 2H. But the second one is definitely faster for OH. I do the U2s with my left hand.
