tournament question

I was wondering what would happen if you're solving your cube and it explodes in a tournament.
Thanks

if you choose to stop the attempt, does that mean you get to do it again or will they average your 4 solves?

They're not really called tournaments, they're called competitions. Just a little pet peeve of mine, like when people say cross country "game."

You can choose to fix it, but you could also DNF. Generally, it's always better to have a result than none, that way you won't get a DNF average if you get another DNF.

Keep up with the lingo, friend! A Rubik tournament is where the cubists and Rubik's fans see who can play with the cube the fastest, with a pre-inspection of only ¼ of a minute.

I think the cubists give their Rubix cubes to the judges and the judges will mix them up. Then they go to a table with a big clock and try to fix it as fast as they can.

Is the dianma ok for sub 40 solvers?

The Dianma isn't particularly good for any speed, from what I've heard. It's just not an amazing cube.

Something like a Dayan Zhanchi would be a good speed for you, I think. Stuff like the Weilong and Aolong might be too fast.

Ask this question in the puzzle choice thread, and you'll get more specific information than I'm giving you.

Quick clock question: are the clock colors regulated somehow (competitionwise), or is it legal to have a clock with let's say lightblue edges and darkblue corners on the same side?

I don't know much about clock, but I think this is the regulation you want to look at.

Thanks for the link.
The regulation seems to be talking about the paper inserts though, and says nothing about the clock colors... Does that mean it's okay for them to be any color?
