Hahaha I had no idea what I wrote sorry I think I meant I’m a begginer speed cuber
I actually think its a great cube for a beginning speedcuber. At the $9-$10 price point its perfect because it's still pretty cheap but on par with some of the best cubes of the last couple years. A lot of really fast cubers mained the Thunderclap V1 for a while, and it was touted as sort of an "Aolong V3" since it was sort of a spiritual successor to the wildly popular Aolong V2.

That said, its design is somewhat outdated by today's standards. It does not have the anti-twist corner design of today's cubes, and it has a really springy, bumpy, and flexible feel that was in vogue a couple years go.

For a beginner though it can be pretty forgiving if set up properly and you won't really need to worry about corner twists until you get a bit faster. At that point you might be looking into a higher end cube anyway. All in all, it's a pretty good cube.

Shengshou has produced multiple megaminxes; there's the first(?) one that has no name, the Aurora, and the Pearl. The Aurora and the Pearl are said to be decent out-of-the-box, but their first megaminx requires modding and a lot of breaking in.

(I've never tried any of Shengshou's megaminxes, just for the record, so I don't know how they stack up to other megaminxes on the market. However, as a beginner, you don't need the best hardware ever, so it doesn't really matter even if you get a mediocre megaminx.)

so i got sent the wrong cube from thecubicle.us it was my first speedcube, and the only one i have

now it was my birthday last month and i got 13 dollars, and i'm still stuck on what to get. should i re-order the MF3RS or should i buy the qiyi thunderclap? which one is better?

I'd say the Thunderclap is better

Hey guys. Sort of a silly question that I'm not 100% sure what subforum to ask this.

I was most active in 2010, when among the "better" cubes were F2, the original Guhong, A5, etc. I'm looking to buy a couple 3x3s, but so many have released in the last several years, it's overwhelming to know where to even begin.

I see that reviews haven't evolved much, lots of emphasis on "corning cutting" and whatnot, and apparently almost every cube is competitive on some level.

So I'm asking, what do you guys like?

My favorites were cubes that don't have too much going on in them. If this description means anything to anyone - the 2nd or 3rd Guhong iteration had torpidos in them, I hated how it turned. Far too much friction. The Taiyan (not well known I believe), original Guhong, and V-Cube were my go-to's.

If context matters at all, I average about 16 seconds.

Id say the best budget cubes are Yuxin Little Magic and Mf3rs. More expensive- Qiyi Valk, Moyu Gts2. Even more expensive- GTS2M Cubicle, Gan Air SM.
