What do you mean by "cheap design"? The Rubik's brand cubes are expensive. I wish I had them (I only have new 3x3x3 one) but they're too expensive. However that guy doesn't care about price.

Please tell me you're joking...
You can get a decent speedcube like a Guanlong for much less than a Rubik's brand. And the quality and performance is much, MUCH better than on a Rubik's brand.

Are YOU joking about the quality thing? One thing definitely true is that Rubik's brands have the best QUALITY, although this may not be true for PERFORMANCE.

qual·i·ty
ˈkwälədē/
noun
  1. 1.
the standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something.
    "an improvement in product quality"
synonyms: standard, grade, class, caliber, condition, character, nature, form, rank, value, level

And in this context they mean the same thing. Whoever originally asked the question that started this dumb argument certainly wanted a cube with good performance over your so-called "quality".

Gan 356 Air SM vs Valk Power M. I'm getting a cube for Christmas, but don't know which one I should get. I feel like getting the SM becuz my mathematical calculations.
UM=Valk M(my times r same)
Valk M= Valk Power M (according to many ppl and Qiyi themseleves, it isnt an upgrade)
SM>UM, therefore, SM> Valk M

Therefore, I shud get SM.

I'm still asking for ur opinons tho.

I think you should get the GTS2 or the GTS2 M if you want a magnetic cube.
Maybe even the Valk, because it's just much cheaper than the SM and equals it's performance (personal opinion).

No, no, you misunderstand. I have both the UM and the Valk M, and perform around the same for both. However, I can get a SM or Power M for Christmas, and I want to see which one I should get, hence my "mathematical calculations".

Ok, so I am really sick of people asking what kind of cubes should they get.
It seems that I have started the "The XXX Thread" wave at this forum, although some of the threads are pretty useful, the invarible title really annoys me.

anyway, as the tile have said, this thread is for those of you who does not know what cube you should buy or is struggling over choosing from a certain cubes. This thread is for questions, as some of the reviews on the forum may not satisfy your need.

Rules:
1. Please try to look at the previous posts to see if there are other people who are in the same dilemma as yours have already posted or being answered. This could save a lot of space in this thread, and make it easier both for people to answer or ask.
2. Please make sure that you talk about your preferances/choices, or maybe previous experiances that may affect your decision, with as much details as you can. I am really tired of people just posting the exterior of the cube without any descriptions at all at the cube ID thread. Giving as much details as possible will help us to find exactly the "best cube" for you.
3. Make sure you follow the rules, and be as nice as possible. I don't was to see stuffs like "Why would you want XXX? It's the worst cube ever" or "Only people with real mature tastes will like the AV. FIIs are for kids."

Soo, have fun!

I am considering getting either a Valk 3 power or gans air s. I like more of a soft, quiet cube with minimal catches
