So, I've been searching through the forums a lot looking for a good pyraminx.
I've seen soooo many mixed opinions about QJ and Mefferts.
Apparently QJ pops a lot if overused, but then some people say that theirs is great, etc etc.
And the Mefferts breaks down soon, or it's really durable but slow.
So ya. I'd like to hear some recent opinions.

The Mefferts is a better quality but has to be broken in. The QJ is instantly good, but worsens over time.

I'm currently subbing 19 for my 3x3 with a zhanchi and recently got pretty bored.
i'm not looking to learn the 4x4 and 5x5.
I wan a really good cube that can get me all the way to sub-1. For the 4x4,I might be getting the dayan mf8.
Any suggestions for the 5x5?

PS: I dun wan pillowed

If you want a good cube out of the box, get the Shengshou 4x4 and 5x5. If you are willing to do long mods, then the Dayan+MF8 4x4 and the V-Cube 5x5 would be a better choice.

Depends on what you like. All the Dayan cubes are generally considered the best but the alpha 5 and fII can also be considered good choices.

Most prefer the zhanchi, and it is used by feliks zemdegs(3x3x3 world record holder). It's hard to gauge unless you know what kind of cube you like. Most dayan cubes will work for your purposes though

If you like a smooth feeling I would go with a guhong (v2). If you like crunchy go with lingyun v2. The zhanchi is clicky but if you mod it it can be very smooth. The lunhui is a little slow compared to the others but it is smooth. If you don't know what you would rather prefer go with the zhanchi. It is overall amazing.

3x3 cube for oh

i currently have a zhanchi but im 11 so its too big for my hands when solving oh. is there a cube which is fast and doesn't lock up but is very small. i have to let go when doing h perm for 2 handed(M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2) so i do ( M2 U' etc ).

doing an H-perm that way is fairly typical and it is what I do.

anyway, I recommend getting an Alpha. A Micro Memory is the size of a typical mini cube, but it is also fairly sturdy and fast. It is about 4 1/2 centimeters (compared to a zhanchi which is 5 1/2 cm) If you want something in between in terms of size, go with a Mini Alpha.

I would say a haiyan's haiyan cube which is smaller than average. If that's too big go with BlueDevil's post.
