Is a Dayan Lingyun a good cube for an absolutly beginner? I am thinking to buy a stickerless one for my little sister.

I don't find any reason why not. A great Dayan cube can belong to a beginner like her, but I've had some non-cubers twist the cube with there whole hands causing the cube to explode. Then they start dissing the cube why it exploded. Just make sure you teach her to not use her whole hands to crunch up on the cube. That way, it will reduce pops on the Lingyun (although pops occur), and teaching her not to use hands is a good habit too. It would be ideal for her if she can turn with fingers since she is a beginner, she wont be able to turn so fast, so therefore slowturning+finger turning=non-pop Lingyun. (for now)

Or you could get a ZhanChi, tighen the tensions an equal amount (e.g. 3/4 turn, 1 turn) and, when she gets progressively faster, you can progressively loosen the tensions. That way, you only have to buy one cube, when she has the cube to it's best potential, it's already broken in.

Yes, I was going to mention that, but I forgot...:fp

anyway, yes, a Zhanchi is great, I would highly recommend it over the Lingyun, it doesn't pop, is very fast, although you could tighten the tensions or overlube it to make it slower for her. It could get her from now to advanced.

I think you're talking about your signature. I'll edit with a picture that will help.

That is a signature. You can go to your own profile, then on the left bar, scroll down until you see "Edit Signature". Click that, then write anything you want (appropriate of course) then click save signature. Done!

Also, for the Guhong Tension, there is no best tension, you may choose whatever you like. If you like it loose, it may be very fast although it can be moderately fast too with good lube, it can also pop a bit more. Tighter tensions may be "tight" like slower, but I can't really explain it all to you, it is just experimentation of yourself trying it out, so you can get best results. There are many videos on Youtube as a guide for reference too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4X1hUDWxx3Y

I find these videos most clear and best. :)

Ok thanks for the advice. I will buy her a stickerless LingYun because it is cheaper and don't have to replace the stickers never, and if she get interested in speedcubing and get better times I will buy her a Zhanchi or any better cube.

Another question... I am going to put an order in Lightake for some cubes but it seems that they don't have the Shengshou 5x5 in stock now. Is there any place similar to Lightake (with worldwide free shipping) were I can order that cube?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

This sub-forum will definitely help you: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?37-Puzzle-Shops

You can search around there, all of them should be trustworthy or else they would've taken the thread down. But, worldwide free shipping is quite rare, I don't see that very often in American/Canadian shops.

I have found this shop that only offers free shipping with a purchase of over 50 dollars (as I see you live in Argentina). http://thecubicle.us/shipping.php?osCsid=a2379c4d1067abd4d5ef826bf37f70cd
Free shipping if puchase with 6 cubes or more: http://www.e3cubestore.com/shipping.html
FREE SHIPPING: http://puzzleaddictions.com/index/555.html
Free Shipping (80 percent sure):http://www.dinodirect.com/rubik-cube-revolution-game-abs.html#mycarttip
This one should also have it too: http://www.likiti.com

I know there are more, but I already spent 30 minutes running through some of the shops for it. Just look at the sub-forum, click on the threads, check to see if there is any in stock, then see if it's free shipping, voila.

Is the Dayan Zhanchi 5 (3x3) stickerless good? I ordered it online yesterday.

Of course it is great. It is very fast, sometimes uncontrollably fast if you lube it with a fast lube such as Lubix. Quite smooth, especially if you do the CPM mod to it. Has torpedoes so it doesn't pop much if at all. It's also used to set the world record. It has a slight clickyness to it, if you like it. But overall, it is just very undeniable to many people.
I am quite sure, you wont regret it.

THANK YOU skeletonboy!!! It is really nice to meet people like you on internet, thank you very much for your advice. I will check the shops and see which one has the best shipping cost to Argentina because US dollar are really expensive to me.

That's the cube that I'm looking to get, as soon as I get some money. But would you say there's any difference in the stickered/stickerless version? I know that the stickerless version isn't allowed in competitions, but I don't plan on entering any anytime soon.

People have tried Stickerless and said that is is somewhat "much" or "significantly" better. I don't think there is a difference between them, they are dyed the same way and made the same way, but yet people say ".....the awesomeness of stickerless is so good......". I can't find any scientific evidence to prove this or compare this, but my friend ordered a stickerless Zhanchi, which will come within a week. At that time, I can compare my White Zhanchi and his stickerless.

If you are ordering a cube, just choose your preference, the difference wont matter much anyway, some say it's smoother, some say it is faster (which can be bad on a Zhanchi), does that decrease your time, I doubt so, any Zhanchi stock is good enough.

Also, I've always heard about white being better than black...etc...I still can't find a reason why...

I'll just get the stickerless then. I prefer the look of it, and there's no stickers to peel. Thanks!

What is the #1 BEST CUBE?

I need to get a SUPER good cube! Does anyone know a website that sells modded 3x3 cubes? Or does anyone know any really good cubes???

As far as I know, izovire does minor mods to his Dayan Products and he teaches you how to mod too.

Other than that Lubix is the only choice that does major mods and make increased performance cubes such as 'Ultimate Lubix Zhanchi or Lubix Guhong or Lubix Elite or Lubix Fusion etc...

And also, there is no best cube, there are their advantages and disadvantages, if you were to rate a cube, there is no 10/10. Only 9.9999999/10
Good cubes rely on preference, why don't you just search up some hot cubes now. Examples could be Guhong, Guhong V2, Zhanchi, Lingyun, Alpha V, Haiyan Memory, F2...
