You should really get a ZhanChi or a Guhong. They are smooth and don't lock up. If you think the cube is too fast you could always tighten the screws.

If you still want to get the Alpha cubes(I would advise against) then I would sigguest the AV that you yourself mod. The Hiayans Hiayan is too locky. I har only tried two but I doubt the best could really be that mayhem better.

a ZhanChi is no harder to use than an AV. I'd really recommend a Dayan cube, the internal mechanism is a huge improvement over all the 3x3's before it, it just turns so much nicer, even if you're turning slowly and not cutting corners. Also there was a thread a wee while ago where the concensus seemed to be that anyone saying a beginner couldn't handle a good cube doesn't know what they're talking about.

Ok I needa get a new cube (I currently have a type B and dont like it much) I average around 65-75 seconds Im mostly looking for a cube that doesnt lock up alot. I was thinking about a Dayan but does it matter which Dayan I get?

The Guhong, Zhanchi, Lingyun, and maybe the Lunhui are all very good. As for which one's the best, it's all a matter of opinion, but if you're not picky, any of them should work.

Yes, it matters. Many people prefer the ZhanChi or Guhong. Some like the Lingyun V2. The Dayan Guhong V2 is also an option. It has anchors so it doesn't pop, but that may affect the smoothness of it. Only a few people prefer the LunHui, and I'm not sure if anybody prefers the Taiyan.

Your best bet is still the ZhanChi or Guhong.

Edit: This is just what I've seen most on the forums. You might prefer the Lunhui, but you can't go wrong with the zhanchi or guhong.

Lubix GuHong V2 or Lubix LingYun V2?

Hi all. It's basically as the title says. I'm looking to try a new speedcube, but I can't decide whether to try the GuHong V2 or the LingYun V2. I would get both to try but Lubix Cubes are more expensive.. I have the old GuHong, the stickerless version. Then I Have two ZhanChi's both of which just don't QUITE do it for me. I enjoy crispy cubes like the Alpha V, but mine got extremely worn out and pops all the time now. Although I like crispy cubes, I seem to perform better on somewhat smoother ones. I'm not really sure where to go from here. I'm just looking for second opinions.

Ok I decided that Im going to get a GuHong DIY green and latter Im going to get a ZanChi DIY blue. I first have to sell a guitar of mine for some cash though lmao.

Just so you know, any cubes that aren't white or black (like blue and green) aren't allowed in competitions. If you don't plan on going to any competitions, that's fine, but if you want to go to one soon, keep that in mind.

If you don't want a cube that pops, get the Guhong V2. I love my lingyun v2 (it's my main), but it pops just a bit too much. The guhong v2 is very smooth...i think you will get much faster with it.

.....Yes, they are allowed. It is just non-stickered cubes that aren't allowed.

As long as you can't distinguish between the sides by looking at the pieces from the inside there's no problem, I've seen colored (single colored) cubes used in competition before.

I'm planning on buying a 2x2. I've read many reviews and found that the Type C was the most popular one. While I'd really want to invest on a good 3x3 and 4x4 (I have an F-II and plan on getting a Zhanchi because the F-II seems to be the loudest cube ever, and I'm probably getting a ShengShou 4x4), I'm wondering if it's really worth it to pay 10$ for a Type C, when I can get a 3.50$ QJ on CubeDepot.

Any thoughts on it? Is the QJ one okay? Or is it totally horrible?

I can tell you that I know absolutely nothing about the QJ. As far as I know, the three main 2x2s on the market are the Type C, LanLan, and V-Cube.

If you're willing to spend the money I say definitely get the Type C. If you don't want to spend $10, then get the LanLan which can be found for $5.

Either way if colored cubes are or are not it wont be anytime soon that Ill be in any competition. Where I live theres no close by competitions but I do hope to go to one some day it just wont be for a while.
