[Help Thread] Puzzle Choice Thread

Hmmm... Nice. So that would be about $38 right? Damn! That's like 1780 Rupees! Quite expensive for me down here in India! Oh well... I'll get it sometime. Not really in a hurry for the shipping. But I'll consider the $2 thing. Do they have any promos or anything there? What are the chances of lightake / popbuying getting a gear cube.

Also, which bump cube / mirror block on lightake would be good? Could you post a link please?
 
SO i have a YJ 4x4 and its a nice cube and all but it locks up alot. What kind of 4x4 can i get that would be better/are there any mods i can do to stop it from locking up?

also, im thinking about getting a 5x5, have any suggestions for that? I've heard the v-cube is nice (:

For the 4x4, you can do the pin mod and it should help.

For the 5x5, V-Cube is your best bet, it just takes a little breaking in. (Or if you don't mind KOs, YJ 5x5 is good too.)

For your 4x4 the maru 4x4 is extremely nice even though some people call it a KO I use it as my main speedcubing 4x4

1. the one with "connecting line" just simply have extra replacement strings...
there really isn't much difference for magics, so I'd say to buy either the cheapest one or the Rubik's magic. But be sure the check the dimensions on the product description, there are different sizes of the magic. (the normal size is approx. 20cm×10cm.)

2. doesn't matter. But personally I prefer the mirror block to be black and gold.

3. I'm not sure about that particular lube, but Dillon says that it sucks. The Guhong works best and lasts the longest with Maru lube.
 
I'm gonna go ahead and get the one with the extra string, just in case. I like black and silver for the mirror block.

I'll get maru lube for me. Most of my friends want that lube cuz it's cheaper. I'll get some more opinions regarding that one though.
 
What cube to buy?

I want to buy a cube but i don't know where and what type of... I am thinking of getting an A type (what kind?) or an F II, because as I see in a sticky topic, these are the best... So, what is your opinion? What type should I get and WHERE from?(I live in Greece, and I'd like a site supporting PayPal;)) If you have something different to suggest, you 're welcome! :cool:

I also have a Rubik's Storebought but the stickers are crap now... Should I get stickers or tiles from Cubesmith, and what kind of?(bright, half-bright, textured/smooth tiles etc.)
P.S. I use this cube a lot because it turns great and it is awesome at cutting corners!:D
