Hello Everyone,
I am interested in buying a new 3x3 cube, but can not decide which one is the best in the market right now.
I saw a post recommend on these cubes: Moyu Weilong GTS 3 M - $34.99 or Gan 354 M - $39.99 or GAN 356 X - $61.95 or MoYu Weilong WR M - $38.99,
And still could not decide...
Can someone advise me?
Thank all! :)

What cube/s do you already have ? What do you like and dislike about the cube/s you own ? Most of the cubes you mentioned are considered some of "the best" on the marquet right now. Btw there no such thing as an absolute "best" in cubing or anything else

Moyu Weilong WRM is the same cube as the GTS3M, but with lighter magnets and no ridges. Most prefer the WRM. The 354 M is inferior to the 356 X.

But then again, I don’t think what you looked at was too up-to-date. The Valk Elite M is a really good flagship cube from Qiyi’s Valk line, and the 356 XS and X V2 are successors to the 356 X. YJ MGC Elite is a very good flagship cube, for a lower price, and the Dayan Tengyun is pretty good as well, known as a very quiet cube with raw speed. (Tengyun v2 coming soon)

Im considering buying the GAN 251 M or the Valk, I know the Valk Is relatively good for the price, I was just wondering whether or not the GAN 251 M was worth the $30? If it is I will buy that one just because of how customizable it is.

I'd go for the Valk M. It's a solid 2x2 all around. I haven't tried the 251 specifically, but GAN 2x2s tend to be as good or worse than other 2x2s on the market. If anyone who's actually used it has insight, please enlighten me :)
Good luck!

Thanks, I really appreciate the help I am currently sub 5 but use a trash 2x2 so I am trying to get a newer 2x2!

I like it but honestly, not worth the extra $10.

Just know that the Valk is much slower and heavier than the 251.

If you like fast, light: 251
If you like slow, heavy: Valk

The gan 251 was my main for about 3 months but it required a lot of setup and tensioning as well as changing ges to make it good. I traded mine for a gan 354m about a month ago but I would recommend the Weipo Wrm or even the xinghen

I Have the X and I Kinda dislike it. If I don't like the X, should i get the XS? Is the XS worth it? THanks

First of all, probably not if you don’t like the x. Second of all, you don’t need to make a new thread for every question you have. There are plenty of threads for this kind of thing.

Right now, I'm deciding between getting these cubes: the MGC, Tengyun, Weipo WR M, and Valk 2. I know the MGC 2 elite is coming soon, but i wanna know, which one do you guys like the best and why?

Since you don't like the X, probably not. I'd recommend getting either the GTS3M/WRM or the Valk Elite M, as they're considered the best on the market right now, along with the XS. (Also, the WRM is just a GTS3M except with lighter magnets and without ridges)

Oh ok, sorry, I'm new to speedsolving.com

No problem, everyone does it when they start :)

I want to try out some newer & nicer 3x3 cubes to get a feel for the differences in manufactures and modern cube styles. The only magnetic cubes i have ever used are the Yuxin kylin V2M & my cubicle custom Yuxin little magic M. I've also done a lot of solves on the non magnetic little magic and the Moyu MF3RS. Given the info below which cubes do you think will agree with my current preferences and also which cubes will give me a change in feel from the little magic M? I'll most likely get 2 or 3 from the list below.

Some details to consider:
  • both my little magic and little magic m are an absolute pleasure to solve with, they are light, smooth,so easy to turn and it just feels "right"
  • the magnets in my little magic m to me feel strong. I love that i can flick it and the layers are just perfectly in line...however, some times i turn too aggressively and the cube feels like it wants to turn in all directions at once (unstable?)
  • my MF3RS is noticeably heavier to me than my little magic. I much prefer the little magic to the MF3RS (both non magnetic)
  • customization sounds tedious and i don't have the desire to tinker with that much. I understand how that makes the cube more suitable for a variety of solvers or even to me as i progress
  • i must have a sloppy and aggressive turning style, I'm actively working on toning that down
  • I average ~30sec
  • lets say price isn't an issue, i just want to focus on feel
I am considering the following cubes:
  • Dayan TengYun M
  • YJ MGC3 Elite
  • Moyu Weilong WR M
  • Moyu Weilong GTS3 M
  • Valk 3 M
  • Gan 356XS
  • anything else you may recommend...

Lol nobody is ever going to recommend this to you but the YuXin Huanglong M is something to consider.

*RANT INCOMING*

It is very forgiving and had a very small corner-cutting deadzone. Even if your only do 1/2 a turn, it will almost always finish the turn the way you want it to. Since the Huanglong is also a YuXin puzzle, it shares the feel. It is very stable on tight tensions, and effortless on loose tensions. This makes medium tensions perfect for stable but effortless turning.

I think you should get the Gan XS. It is light and has strong magnets. (It also has a system where you can customize the magnet strength.) It also has great corner cutting, which can be good if you have a sloppy turning style.
