Yeah, it's more a question of hand size and preference. I have relatively big hands and I'm more confortable with 57mm cubes, even for OH. I use a Tanglong currently.

yeah it is. My hands aren't that big but i use a regular zhanchi because i have nothing else that would do better. I could probably do better with a mini cube but i don't plan on getting the wr and they'll grow bigger... eventually

For pyra, Moyu is a little more stable, and Qiyi is more flexy. I prefer the Qiyi becuase I find the reverse cutting on the Moyu a little lacking. Moyu is probably a safer bet though.

As for skewb, I think most people who have both (including me) prefer the Qiyi, but it's not much of an upgrade. If you have the money, get the Qiyi, but the Moyu won't hold you back otherwise.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! You've helped me so much to make my mind. I think I'll just get a Moyu Pyra for now. What's holding me now at both pyra and skewb is that I'm a noob that needs a lot of practise so no need to but a QiYi skewb yet if the difference is not great but I really can't stand my Shengshou Pyra so the Moyu will be more than welcome.

Whatever you decide, don't get the TangPo, get the YJ YuPo instead. They're almost literally the exact same cube (most of the pieces use the same mold), except sold for twice the price. I'd even argue the YuPo is slightly better, and is my main. The only reason to get a TangPo over the YuPo is if you want it in one of those funky colours. I know I bring this up a lot, but the TangPo really was a scam in my eyes, and I won't shut up about it!
And yeah, the DaYan is great too, and most people still use it as their main. I'd say get both (DaYan and YuPo) and decide based on your personal preference.

Yeah your HuaLong is good enough. But of the cubes you mentioned, while I've tried neither yet, I've heard the YueXiao is better. I have the 356 v1, and it's great + my backup main, so I assume the v2 will be great too. Another cube worth considering would be the TangLong, my current main.

Just get the YuXin. it's pretty universally considered to be the best 5x5 out there, and it's at a good price too.

Well mini ShengShou and cubic AoFu are the only real viable options for speedcubing, so yeah. It's up to you. If you like the feel of MoYu's 5x5s or 6x6, then you'll like the AoFu. If not, or if you're just worried about wasting money, there's the Mini SS.

Hope this helped.

I support your advice to IAMEpic2004 but from my experience I'd say go directly with the Dayan. It's weird that some people (including myself) finds a problem with internal catching in all Moyu 2x2s (I have a LingPo but I have heard the same about YuPo and TangPo) while others can use them as mains. In my case catching can ruin at least 1 in 3 solves so I cannot seriously use it. In any case, if finally going for a Moyu I agree that at least the YuPo is basically the same but much, much cheaper.

That will never happen with the Dayan. The only problem is that newer Dayans have a different plastic and are not as good as old ones (that's what I've heard, in any case). It happens to mine :( It's a little less smooth and more bumpy that old ones.

I agree that Hualong is good enough. I have the TangLong and, at best, it's marginally better. I'm almost a collector of 3x3s that's why I keep getting new cubes that don't make me any faster. I'm also waiting to get my hands on a YueXiao :)

Cannot agree more!!!

No idea, as I don't do 7x7... yet. But if he's not sure about getting into 7x7 I'd also get a Mini SS. The Cubic AoFu is a bit expensive.

Thanks for the help! :)

which 2x2 is better for a newbie?

For a newbie, as in "I want something that's good out of the box that I don't have to lube and tension and I don't care much about 2x2", there are some choices. Cheap and good ones are the YJ YuPo and CB 2x2 (stickerless). But if you get more serious then you'll probably start to be annoyed by internal catches spoiling your solves.

For a newbie that wants to get progressively serious with 2x2 and does not want to buy another cube later I'd go for the Dayan. But it's not gonna be great out of the box and sooner or later, once broken in, will need lubing and tensioning. It will also probably pop once in a while and you'll have to put it back together but in the long run it's arguably the better 2x2 in the market. It's also quite expensive for a 2x2.

Which is the best mini cube, as in 54.6mm? I know of the weilong and jeiyun, but are there others, and which one has the best performance?

Really? I had heard that the zhanchi was really blocky and not very good performance wise. What about the mini aolong? i currently use the regular aolong V2, so, yah.

The ZhanChi is not much more blocky than the WeiLong and the plastic has a smooth, silky feel when turning. There's a bit higher initial turning resistance with the plastic of the WeiLong that I find a unpleasant, especially when comparing it to the ZhanChi. The WeiLong does cut corners slightly better which is the main reason I'm undecided.

I ruled out the Mini AoLong because it's too bubbly, catches more because it flexes too much and is prone to corner twists.

The ZhanChi never corner twists while the WeiLong occasionally does.
