Most current cubes seem to be clicky and loud. What are some quiet but still fast cubes on the market right now?
In general is the Aolong still one of the best cubes? I am trying to decide whether to just resticker mine or get a new cube.

Get the Gans 356. It is really quiet, smooth and fast enough.

Gans 356 or Hualong? I like stable smooth quiet/ clicky cubes :) Thanks!

For your description of what you want (and I have both cubes so I know, I'm using past expirience ) I think the gans356.

I think we're in similar boats. After a few more weeks of trying, the Bullfight isn't winning over my SuLong. The lack of reverse cutting is a bit annoying and it's too heavy and sluggish for extended use. I can hit some good singles with the Bullfight because it's stable and smooth but I get inconsistent times because it isn't light and snappy like the SuLong. The quest continues.

On the other hand, I'm warming up a little to the HuaLong as it breaks in. I'm shocked by how fast I can execute algorithms on that thing. Maybe with a bit more tinkering with tensions I can retain the speed but make it more stable. We'll see. I also have the YuXin 3x3 en route...

Retaking our conversation and opening up the question to anyone reading, of course. Well, you won't believe what happened. My Chilong desperately needed a cleaning and relubing and the Hualong had not arrived yet (and ofcourse neither the Thunderclap). So I chose another cube from my collection: the Moyu Huanying.

After a couple of days I started to get comfortable with it and my times were almost as good as with the Chilong. It is faster but not too unstable so, just being a bit more careful when turning and using much less force I managed to get consistent times with it. And today I have beaten my PB Ao50 and 100 with it!!!

So, was I so biased towards the Chilong that I didn't even give an opportunity to any other cubes I tried? Also, knowing that I now like the Huanying at least as much as the Chilong, does anybody have a recommendation? I have a Yueying but, for some reason, it doesn't feel half as good as the Huanying (maybe I haven't set it up correctly?). Would the Huanlong be a good choice (if it ever comes in the mail, almost 6 weeks already since it shipped)?

Of course, one recommendation could be: "stick to the Huanying". I'm just looking for possible improvements over that.

What I like about the Chilong: very stable
What I don't like about it: a bit slow, doesn't reverse corner-cut well

What I like about the Huanying: faster and still stable (if not as much as the Chilong), reverse corner cut not much better but, when it does it, it is effortless.
What I don't like: a bit rough and noisy, my fingers at times get inside the hollow corner pieces.

Been away for too long
After reading through various reviews and a couple of recommendations I got myself (lightake):

a. weiling V1 and aolong enhanced (last month) - "hated" the aolong at first, but now *thumbs up*. PS: cubezz has weilong V2 enhanced - is that supposed to be better?
b. Gans 356, Hualong, Meiying and Thunderclap - on the way

[coming from type A, C, D, rubiks (storebought and DIY), then dayan (2 of each: guhong, linyun, lunhui and zhanchi)]

Did I miss anything? ;)

Still love the dayans...

I want to get a new 4x4. This will be my first 4x4 and I'm debating between a mini aosu and a yuxin 4x4. Price is no issue, and I will get it tomorrow. Which is better? I don't know anything about 4x4/how to solve one yet. For 3x3, I like slightly scratchy/crunchy cubes (kind of like weilong/zhanchi/yulong) if that helps with picking a 4x4.

I would probably recommend the full size AoSu unless you have really small hands. I haven't tried the Mini AoSu but most people don't think it's quite as good as the full size. Even though I like more blocky, stable 3x3s, the Yuxin is my main 4x4 even though it's quite bubbly and buttery. It's a bit more uncontrollable but I get better times with it because the outer layers are crazy fast. Not sure I would recommend it as a first 4x4, though.

Since it's your first and you will be focusing on learning, go with the AoSu. If you feel the need for something different later on, the YuXin is worth a shot.

okay so the Gans 356 has been my 3x3x3 main for a while now. Ive cleaned it then lubed it, restickered it with my personal shades, and broke it in. But I'm starting to get tired of it. I love it but its just been my main for a very long time. I want to try the Cong's Design MeiYing, do you think I'll like it enough to make it my new main? Just state your opinion. I average 21-23.5 seconds using CFOP. Thanks!!

So, I have started a series on my youtube channel called going back in time. Basically I go backwards in order and unbox older cubes. So far, I unboxed the fangshi shuangren. I just need a list of cubes that go in a descending order that happened before the shuangren.
Thanks for your time,
KeystoneCubing

There weren't any cubes sold at the competition I went to, so I have some more time, apparently. I felt a yuxin and prefered it to an aosu that i tried, but does the mini feel different from a full size? Also how would adding Weisu soft springs change the mini aosu or Yuxin?

I have received my YJ Yuhu megaminx in record time from cubezz. Only 12 days since they shipped it. Out of the box it comes a bit too tight and I don't have any experience with Megaminx so I cannot tell much about it yet. I also got a Moyu skewb (which turns just great) so now I need resources to learn how to solve both :) This is not a question just a comment (I know this is not the right thread to ask how to solve a puzzle). I was just excited with the unboxing and wanted to let you know :) These are my first non-cube (2x2, 3x3 or 4x4) puzzles except for a Pyraminx I don't really use.

I tried a Mini AoSu this weekend and it feels a bit different than the full size. The Mini seems a bit more sluggish and blocky and I popped an internal piece right at the beginning of my first solve. The size took some getting used to, too. After a few solves I started to get a feel for it and I think it could be a great cube if you adapt to it.

I have no idea what swapping springs would do to these cubes. I don't care for modding.
