Thanks so much! Planning of buying one!
And gonna get the stickerless one since I dont have money to buy new stickers if they peel off.

Thanks!

3x3x2 is nice and easy, it's like the equivalent to a 2x2, you only need 3 small algs or so to solve it, but if you want to go with an advanced method it's still only like 16... also if you do it layer by layer the first layer could be really simple (cross + insert corners) or you could be creative and blockbuild it. It leads on nicely to the 3x3x4 which is essentially two 3x3x2s (one on the inside and one on the outside) the C4U 3x3x4 is a great puzzle, turns beautifully.

Ah thanks!
Then does the C4U 3x3x4 shape shifts?

Well....
I saw a review on youtube saying that you should only get Dayan ZhanChi if you can go sub-20. Cuz its too fast/uncontrollable when your time is above that

Is it true?

No, that's rubbish. The cubes some people recommend now as 'beginners cubes' are the ones they were saying a year ago were too fast for beginners (like AV and F2s).
There was a thread on this a while ago and I'm pretty sure the consensus was that since there is very little difference in price, people should get as good a cube as they can as soon as they can.
That was so you don't end up learning bad habits (like wrist turning a stiff cube), developing wrist pains (very rare now a days with good cubes), and while a cube may seem 'too fast' it actually doesn't take much time at all to learn how to control it, and when you do you'll be in a better position than someone who is getting a good cube later on and then has to adapt their style. :)

No, fraid not, you can only do R2 L2 F2 B2 on the sides.
You should check out RedKB's YouTube page, he's a big fan of cuboid puzzles and has lots of videos with reviews and example solves of them.

Haha i was just watching his videos a minute ago and was reminded of my posts in this forum. It was his videos that made me interested in cuboid in the first place!

Anyway, i guess i will have to settle for non-shapeshifting cuboids first..

Thanks for your info!

I'm interested in buying a 6x6 cube. Not looking for anything in particular as long as it doesn't pop (those things would be a mess to put back together) so... yeah. Any suggestions?

If I were you I would get a shengshou 6x6, I have one and have absolutely no complaints and it has only popped when I deliberately forced it to. You could of course get the Vcube 6, but I heard it was pretty crappy unless you do the pi mod. (not exactly sure what this entails...) but be careful if you choose the v6, as with any mod, if you don't do it right you could go from a crappy cube to a lump of very expensive plastic in a trash can.

Stickerless or stickered cube? (not joining competitions btw)

I think it is mainly preference, some say the stickerless are smoother due to the different plastics that are used between the two. I have no idea if that has any truth to it, since I do not use stickerless.

So I've been wanting some cuboids, but I don't have enough to buy all the ones I want (Ayi 4x4x5, mf8 3x4x5, TomZ 4x4x6, c4y 3x3x4, ayi 5x5x4). I only have enough to buy 2 of them.
CubeDepot doesn't have the 5x5x4, and icubemart doesn't have the 4x4x6.
Which ones should I get?
I already have a c4y 3x3x7, a 2x3x3 pie, and a 2x3x3.

I have the 3x3x4 (non shape shifting) and I really enjoy it. My friend has a 4x4x6 (shapeshifting) and it is really fun as well.
Now I have a question for you, is the 3x3x7 proportional?

Hey there!

I'm new to speed cubing and I just recently started to buy a competitive cube! I bought the 3x3x3 DaYan GuHong Magic Cube Black. Most people said they used the DaYan GuHong, just didn't know if it was the magic cube. Please help me! Will this be a fast cube, do they break easy? What's the best lubricant? I bought mine from here http://lightake.com/detail.do/sku.3x3x3_DaYan_GuHong_Magic_Cube_Black-31025

What is the BEST speed cube to get DIY or pre assembled? What brand? What tiles?

See you later!

The Dayan GuHong is a great cube. It is the second model that the Dayan company produced. There is a newer model, called the Zhanchi, that is arguably the best speedcube out there, but the GuHong is extremely good as well. It is very durable and shouldn't break... unless you hit it with a baseball bat or throw it at the wall. Lubix High Viscosity Lube is generally known as the best kind of lube. http://www.lubixcube.com/Lubix_Cube/Purchase.html (at the bottom.) Lubix is a company that modifies and lubes cube such as the GuHong and make them magical. Their cubes are amazing, and they are all prepared by hand. Make sure and watch videos on how to apply Lubix Lube (only seven drops per lubing.) Badmephisto's tutorials are amazing, they make you a lot faster and help with a wide variety of topics. http://www.youtube.com/user/badmephisto?feature=results_main. Good luck and happy cubing!
