Im wondering what is the best 2x2x2 cube out there to buy other than the V cube 2?

I am probably thinking of buying a LanLan.
I am stuck with a eastsheen 2x2x2 which doesnt cut corners that well. Dont wanna do the Screw/spring mod.

Don't bother. Go straight to a good cube. Yes, the F2 is great, but if you think a guhong would be the best, get a guhong. If you prefer a lingyun, or an Alpha CC, then try that.

Don't waste your money on a cube you won't be using after a month. (Unless you are rich or like to collect cubes).

But to answer your question, I think an A V would be a good transition cube from Rubik's brand to a Dayan since it's crispy and not as smooth.

dayan has everything you need!
guhong for smooth and control, lingyun v2 for crispy and fast (tighten for control), lunhui for crunchy and control,
zhanchi with torps and washers for crispy and fast and without torps or washers smooth and fast (tighten it for control),
none of the above will pop alot so dayan is all you need.

ZhanChi is a must. I wouldn't bother with the LunHui as it's quite heavy and a little sluggish. Tricky between the Fusion and the GuHong V2 as they're both essentially just GuHong's with torpedoes. The LingYun is a little smaller but has a similar feel to the ZhanChi I think, so one of the GuHongs should provide a slightly different to contrast the ZhanChi.
You shouldn't need to buy seperate torpedoes.... infact one of the first things I do with new dayan cubes is to take the torpedoes out.

One other note, the last couple of Lubix products I bought had a bit too much lube between the pieces... a quick dismantle (not unscrewing anything) and clean down was enough to get the excess away, which made it much faster.

I m looking to buy two 3x3 cubes from Lubix( cuz i believe they are the best) and cuz i cant mod cubes on my own.
So which two do you think I should buy?
I was thinking about the Zhanchi and Fusion, but might also consider guhong v2 , lunhui and lingyun. Also do i need to buy the torpedoes extra or will be the cubes come with them?

I know you will say it depends on my cubing style and all that. So well my style is just to turn fast, i like high TPS

I'm not to worried about the cube being good for speedcubing, it just needs to meet my shape specifications. The cubies need to be mostly square and 1 piece of plastic is ideal, I may be able to make it work even if it caps for the bottoms of the pieces though.

Also, if there are any 3x3's out there that are slightly smaller(2-3cm) than your average speedcube and met my above specifications I'd be thrilled.

Similar in size or similar in design? If you want something similar in size, go for a Guhong or a Zhanchi. If you want it similar in design (although I'm not sure why you'd want that), pretty much every cube before Dayan had those designs.

Similar in design. I'm building my own cross cube and the shapes of the Dayan pieces aren't going to work well for my design. I'd use rubiks brand but would rather have a white base and hopefully pay less.

I would say Zhanchi sums it up. It is the mainly fast cube in the market currently, and is slightly crispy, a bit clicky, but it clicks like a boss. Definitely a must buy/see/try/get.
It doesn't pop either, cuts very well, actually outstanding cutting abilities, and thanks to popping defenses, it wont pop during extreme cutting.

My friend wants to start his entire rubiks cube career, but he wants something other than a Rubik's brand.
Would something like a Ghosthand or a Type-A work? What's the best DIY or Screw/spring brand out there for beginners out there on Icubemart or Cubedepot?

Alpha cubes work very well, fast and crisp, but Dayan cubes are the boss mainly right now. If you want Guhong V2 or Zhanchi, go for it. One is crispy and fast, the Guhong V2 is slower, but smoother and quiet. Both don't lockup/pop much if at all.

Definitely Wittwo. It can cut corners far better, very fast, and just very good/smooth.

Just go for a Dayan ZhanChi. It's the most popular cube at the moment, does everything you're wanting and doesn't do the things you're not wanting. Can't go wrong really.

The lingyun v2 is really good, im faster by about two secs with it than the zhanchi, but i kinda like the feel of the zhanchi more. the lingyun v2 is louder and scratchy while the zhanchi is really smooth without torps. bottom line is that the zhanchi and lingyun v2 are equals. if you like REALLY fast (and hard to control) and crispy then get lingyun v2, but if you like more control but still fast get zhanchi, if you have the money than definitly get both.

lingyun ii is the fastest on the market.
