for Dayan Mf8 to be good, you should dismantle the cube and lube the core inside(which is 2x2 cube system with shells around it to fit edges, centers and corners), i lubed it with Maru lube

That just works for the middle layers. The outside ones will still suck.

So it comes down to if you want: MF8 Master Kilominx and a Mini Dayan+MF8 4x4; a Shensghou 8x8; or a MF8 Master Kilominx and a Big Cubesmith order; because you have a Guhong V2 and an MF8 Gigaminx in each option.

I heard the Mini Dayan+MF8 4x4 isn't as good as the regular sized one, but don't take my word for it. So if you need stickers for a lot of puzzles, Option 3 may be the best route; but if you don't need that many stickers, and you don't mind not getting a Kilominx, Option 2 might be the best option.

The Shengshou 8x8, in my opinion, isn't really worth the $80-ish dollars it costs. For option one, I'd suggest getting the normal Dayan+mf8 4x4 (unless you already have it). I'd get either the Option 3 or Option 1 with the normal Dayan+mf8.

I need some advice please, I haven't been cubing since 2009 and I'm confused with all the different kinds of 3x3x3's out there. Any brand that is just generally good?

There is no best brand. That's your opinion. Dayan is probably the most popular brand among speedcubers. Yes, the Dayan Guhong and ZhanChi are great cubes, and I recommend that you try one (or both) of them.

Alpha (Type A) cubes are still generally quite good. The Alpha V is good, so is the Alpha CC (according to some). They are known for having a "crispy" feel. The Alpha CC is the most recent cube from Alpha. It does need some work, but turns out good.

The Sheng En brand's (Type F & Type B) most recent cube (Type FIII) isn't very good. The FII is good though.

The Type CIII is a good cube too, but probably won't match up to the Dayan cubes for most people. The type CIV is coming soon, and looks like it will be good.

The MF8 Legend is an alright cube. It locks up lots, due to the complete lack of reverse corner cutting, and the minimal corner cutting.

If you're looking for a main cube, don't bother with shengshou 3x3's, or QJ 3x3's.

Don't forget the Lunhui and the Lingyun. The Lunhui's not bad once you lube it up, and I hear the Lingyun V2's really good.

Yes. I'm kind of the other way around, although my SS is getting a little bit better. Maybe mine just got broken in finally? I still think it's too small for my hands...

i suggest other cubes. While these are fine, there are other better ones.
I cant give links from phone, but I suggest the qj megaminx v2, ghost hand magic, and zhanchi for these puzzles.

Remember, thats personal preference!
